Default Keystone

Never had an issue with patrol or snow pack. I enjoy the runs.

It crushes Loveland IMO, should we say each to their own?

Please do. I said I didn't understand why people would ride Keystone, but I love the fact that they do! Save the good snow and terrain for the rest of us!

On Sunday friend was written up at Keystone for "passing too closely" to a yellow jacket. Then some liftees started badgering us later saying we ducked ropes because of where we came out of a tree run (we didn't duck any ropes). I've always heard the bad rep Keystone has for giving people crap, it just seems weird because I haven't seen or heard of anything similar at the other Vail resorts.

I just typed up 4 paragraphs explaining why I ride Keystone, but when I hit submit it just disapeared . I doubt anyone would have read it anyway, so here's the cliff notes:

- I have the Epic Local
- I only ride weekends
- I have a dog, so only do day trips and try to limit them to 10 hours max
- I don't like Abasin
- Given the above Keystone and Breck are my only options
- Keystone is always less crowded than Breck
- Keystone does a much better job grooming (which is awesome for late night and early morning snow storms because the main runs are compltely smooth untouched powder the next day)
- The only trees I know of at Breck are completely tracked out by 9:30AM on weekends
- I know of trees at Keystone that are virtually untouched days after a storm
- Despite multiple verbal warnings, I've never been written up or gotten into an altercation with the doucher yellow coats at Keystone

Damn even that ended up being long. Oh well.

Been too busy riding and not giving a shit.

4 from Midnight on last night. Real wind loaded stuff that was slabbing on us today up high on Breck. Higher you went today the better it was.

Keystone HAHAHAHAHA Keystone.

How can anyone hate A basin that place is a fucking gem.

I swear people do not know the mountains up here and just bitch because they follow the herd mentality. Why is it I can get 15 untracked pow runs in on a weekend at Breck when it's "crowded" before 10 a.m.? Hell this year has been worse for crowds than the last 2 due to actually having snow and legalized weedz.

I don't hate Abasin. It definately has it's moments. I just don't like riding there after early season, and before late season. In a month Abasin will be my favorite mountain .

I suppose that's true. But then how many are fortunate enough to be able to spend years riding their mountain(s) 100+ days before Christmas! In the spirit of a belated St. Patty's day, You sir are most certainly "Living the Life of Riley!"

Today was super fun, very low key, huge slough everywhere. Lapped lower 4 of all things for tons of soft slashes.

We had probably 10" by lift opening today. Great pow day without much of a crowd. Snowed until 4pm at the base, still snowing up top now. Had to stop and get my knee drained and filled up with some steroid. Worked some now, back on the mtn in the morning. Have not missed a day in a couple weeks...... Saturday was definitely the crustiest day of the season so far.....

If you've never experienced A basin middle of the season on a pow day mid week you're blowing it. So much untapped potential on that mountain, really reminds me of riding the North West.
