I am sure this has been asked a million times. but is it nice there? I planned the trip from Illinois there since their 4 day pass was so cheap! I think i paid like 120 for 4 days of boarding at A.Basin. A couple friends and I just want to experience a little colorado boarding instead of this hill stuff here.
Done deal. We can whine about the butt hurt and lack of snow if/when it happens. This definitely has become the Colorado thread so it makes sense to brand it that way.
Way to create a top ten most posted on thread in the forum linville.
Well I wish I had the luxury of going a little later in the year. But I had PTO to burn so I will be going over christmas. Dec 23-31. I am a regular at Devils head in Wisconsin. So as long as it is over 1000 feet tall I think it will probably be a great experience haha

Never been to Devil's Head, but if it's anything like Tyrol Basin or Cascade, you'll be in awe when you come out here, even in mid December. A-Bay should be a good choice for that exact week, because the other resorts will likely be absolute zoos.
My first trip out here was spring 2012 and I had a blast, even though it was one of the worst winters CO had seen in awhile. You'll have a great time I'm sure.
If you go into it knowing it's a not a resort but a ski hill you'll be happy. The terrain is super fun when there's powder although it's not a big resort. Did get three of the best pow days of the year there in April/May this season.
I know some here are not going to like my first suggestion but loveland would probably be a better choice than slapahoe at that time. Copper is not a bad place either. They have an excellent snow making system meaning that 3k vertical runs should be an option there.
Ah crap missed that. A basin only? Bummer. Slapahoe has always been a mid February and later spot in my book. It is a great place though. If that is your choice do it.
I agree with some of these guys. I'd check out Loveland too. You can get 4 packs there for 120. I'd go ahead and pick one of those up. That way you have some choices. Sell the ones you don't use. Might even make some profit out of it.
It is a grey area reselling Loveland 4 pack tickets but it is also not illegal. They are regular plain old lift tickets. Unlike the Winterpark and Copper 4 packs.
Got one in my hand, says "illegal to resell" in the fine print. That being said, I was told "As long as you're not on LL property, they can't really enforce it."
It's snowing above 9500'. We are under winter advisory. I'm probably gonna go ride up on vail pass tomorrow morning just to make a few turns. Going up to ride the dh bike in a few minutes through the snow up high. Should be interesting!
I get offered to buy parts of people's 4 packs in the parking lot almost every day. Even in front of the kiosk people will offer you because its chill.
Its illegal to scalp event tickets and smoke weed too.
Wow this is a great thread haha. So much information to absorb. Ok so is the general consensus that I should hit loveland up instead of Abasin? I really just want a good mountain experience. lol
Not gonna lie, I might be a LITTLE bit jealous...:dizzy:
