Ill be back for more tomorrow. It was blue skys today but started snowing around 3, its still snowing.
Sweet! Good to hear. Yeah, China (Especially Dragon's Teeth and upper Poppyfields), blue sky, and game creek were all really good on Sunday, so I was hoping they'd get even better with what Vail got yesterday. Joel wasn't expressing much confidence in snow totals from now until Thursday but your report is giving me some confidence about tomorrow!

Ill probably be in Blue Sky Basin most of the day tomorrow....if you see black and blue checkered pants and the blue NS SL in my pic say whats up.

Argo do you know how often the free buses come by on weekdays? I saw somewhere on their website it varies from every 15 mins to every hour! No way im waiting an hour...at that point ill just drive out and then back in the parking garages every 2 hours hah

Depends on where you park. West vail bus should come every half hour, east vail bus comes every 20 minutes. Golf course bus(which is where free parking is tomorrow and thursday) comes every 30 minutes between 7:45 and 10:15. Free parking is at the 1610 sunburst stop.

If you can put aside the (and you should) time, taking a Level 1 avalanche course is the best way to go. A level I goes over decision making skills in avalanche terrain. There are a few guys out of summit county who offer this course. No matter what, at some time you are going to want to take this course.

Staying Alive in Avalanche Terrain by Bruce Tremper is pretty much a mandatory read. I call it a Level I in a book. For the most part it's an entertaining and easy read.

Of course you need to have the gear. Beacon, shovel, probe, a mode of bc travel, and a pack to carry your basics. Then finding knowledgeable partners always helps. You can get out with others who are not experienced if you have learned the basics, but it makes the learning curve much slower. Getting out with some vets, lets you see skills put to practice and usually means better times out there.

Argo - could you update this thread later tonight? Joel Gratz predicting 3-5" today and 3-5" tonight at Vail.

If that is the case (6-10" on top of what's fallen the last couple days), I'm considering if it is worth it to use a vacation day or not.

PS - who takes the photos that Vail posts on Facebook? I want that person to follow me around and take HQ pics of me slashin the gnarly pops.

If the snow falls as forecasted I'm riding tomorrow. Fuck responsibility. I can reschedule some shit.

Should be interesting at Loveland considering the wind this storm is packing. Potential for some serious wind loading.

If it continues like this all night the total will be a foot or so... as it is the tracks are covered every lap i have made. Wind is riping on the nack side though ....
