I know it's early, but damn, we need some snow.

Colorado | OpenSnow

That shit looks like a repeat of last season.

Bert or RMNP on Saturday. Might be able to play hooky Thursday or Friday. Depends on how the next 24 go. Probably won't hardly snow at either of those spots anyway.

Linville what the fuck are you doing Saturday anyway? Don't tell me you are going to be on Facebook ranting all day about the football games. I'm going to plant my foot so far up your ass if you do...

Hit up the Luv today. Good day, but the powder day was over by 11am. Steeps under chair 1 opened today and got mobbed hard immediately. Snow is still good and soft and there's still a few stashes in the trees, but I'm gonna go put up the Charlie Slasher after I down this beer. Lift 4 is spinning, but not open. Hopefully tomorrow.

I-70 wasn't bad at all. Pretty much drove 65 all the way up. A few sketchy slick spots just west of Silver Plume but that's about it. Roads around Evergreen are slicker than goose shit though.

South Chutes opened around 1pm and oh my god. They're still riding GREAT. Everyone still focused on the steeps under 1 and I've had lap after knee deep lap on the chutes. That little 158 NS Cobra holding up better than I thought it would in those conditions, but I wish I hadn't put the Slasher away. Might go grab it for the last few runs.

I just got off the phone with them
They dug their heels in and used the blanket statement "Its up to you to know where you are" as we cant rope all areas off.
They said they would work with me if I cant make the 2 times they offer for the class. Wednesday 3:30 and Saturdays 8:30.

Im stuck. All good I guess. Im traveling this weekend and Steamboat the following weekend. It just sucks. I can only imagine what the second infringement would mean. Seems like they are really cracking down. They shared a story that a person was in a closed area, hit their head and ended up there overnight. noone knew they were there. Fortunately they lived, but crazy story none the less.
So I get it. and too your point. you can get yourself or others in a bad situation not being careful.

Take your class and go to the Basin way less hassle.

Those people and I will use that term to describe the patrollers/mountain safety over there have a serious mental deficiency. When one of the yellow coats slammed my leg with a pole 5 years, made fun of my slightly ethnic sounding name, and condescended to me they did nothing when I went up the chain of command. To this day I go out of my way to fuck with them on the regular.

I do not stop for them, I ignore them, I've pretended to be deaf, a foreigner, etc. etc. to ignore them on all levels. Most of the people in the yellow coat job have less than 30 days on snow in their lives yet they are supposed to tell you what is safe and not safe. I watched one have to sit down to strap in on a flat the other day after telling me I was out of control as I was buttering past them. They're actually ordered individually to pull 8 passes a year permanently.

I personally haven't had any problems at keystone, and I like the place for some weird reason even though the terrain is better at every other mountain. However I hate to hear about attitudes like that or business practices. I've had multiple companies and I work hard to be as honest and positive as possible with consumers, even if it means a smaller profit. I'd rather do things the "right" way I guess.

Maybe I'm late to the party on the keystone stuff but always good to read the BS behind em.

If I had a nickel for every time some dumb fucking yellowjacket at Keystone told me to slow down or bitch at me for doing side-hits I'd be rich. They tried pulling my pass when I jumped over one the signs they put up in front of my favorite lip to pop off of.

I've had quite a few issues at keystone. A-Basin just a couple times but I was poaching closed shit, so that's my bad.

The Mountain safety and stupid ass no jumping/slow signs they plaster all over keystone is pretty annoying. Haven't been there this year since I'm working in Alberta but i'm sure it's the same old shit.

I've only had two run-ins with Loveland patrol and both were 100% my fault. The second one did get a little ugly though. He was being way agro and I had to tell him to dial it back a little, he wasn't dealing with some 15 year old punk kid. Luckily another member of patrol came skiing up and diffused the situation. I was wrong in what I did and I knew it, but he was wrong in the way he was handling it and I think after the other patrol came up, he realized that as well. Water under the bridge.
