The forecast is shaping up nicely for New Years Day. I'm hoping everyone gets hammered New Years Eve and I can get some quiet powder runs in New Years morning.
First Avy death of the season in Colorado today. Sounds like it was a snowboarder. Happened on Parkview Mountain which CAIC is saying is part of the Rabbit Ears zone. I am not familiar with that area except for driving over the pass.
Sounds like it was on Willow Creek Pass actually. Which I really wouldn't consider part of Rabbit Ears. I guess if you are zoning areas, it could make sense.
Thanks for the well wishes. I am still crying. He was a very good guy. I can't give out names but this is super rough news. All vibes should be directed towards his family.
I'll get in the morning of the 6th and leave the 13th. So you can all expect it to not snow at all in that timeframe if past experiences are any indicator. It never snows for me.

The runs this morning were awesome. Then it got rode off and the wind picked up. Its pretty sketchy right now.... Going from tracked powder to sheets of ice.
Was up for a few hours before work, knee deep =4" on vails report. Did some fantastic runs and came in to fix broken bones.
