I know it's early, but damn, we need some snow.

Colorado | OpenSnow

That shit looks like a repeat of last season.

The divide is Loveland and A basin.

And it finally happened douche bag number 3 hit me from behind. Accidents like that happen in threes. Thankfully I didn't get smoked this time like the last two but guy tried to blame me for hitting me directly from behind after I had checked my blind spots and was going in a straight line. Then decided to put his fist in my face and threaten me, Breck hospitality was less than stoked I chucked him on the ground and walked away. So fucking over idiots that can't ride or ski hitting people then blaming them.

I'm glad you are ok...sorry to hear about moron #3. If they come in 3s, you are good now! :)

My buddy got hit at Keystone earlier in Feb. He was just cruising down the mountain and a guy nailed him from behind and broke a couple ribs on my friend. Idiot wanted to blame him as well. I don't understand it.

I was at Breck on Saturday, definitely crusty. Chair 6 area was some of the worst I've seen, felt like I was riding over gravel.
Towards the end of the day the groomers were pretty fun after some snowfall. I think this season has spoiled me though, there haven't been many bad days for snow on the weekends.

On Sunday friend was written up at Keystone for "passing too closely" to a yellow jacket. Then some liftees started badgering us later saying we ducked ropes because of where we came out of a tree run (we didn't duck any ropes). I've always heard the bad rep Keystone has for giving people crap, it just seems weird because I haven't seen or heard of anything similar at the other Vail resorts.

I just typed up 4 paragraphs explaining why I ride Keystone, but when I hit submit it just disapeared :dunno:. I doubt anyone would have read it anyway, so here's the cliff notes:

- I have the Epic Local
- I only ride weekends
- I have a dog, so only do day trips and try to limit them to 10 hours max
- I don't like Abasin
- Given the above Keystone and Breck are my only options
- Keystone is always less crowded than Breck
- Keystone does a much better job grooming (which is awesome for late night and early morning snow storms because the main runs are compltely smooth untouched powder the next day)
- The only trees I know of at Breck are completely tracked out by 9:30AM on weekends
- I know of trees at Keystone that are virtually untouched days after a storm
- Despite multiple verbal warnings, I've never been written up or gotten into an altercation with the doucher yellow coats at Keystone

Damn even that ended up being long. Oh well.

We had probably 10" by lift opening today. Great pow day without much of a crowd. Snowed until 4pm at the base, still snowing up top now. Had to stop and get my knee drained and filled up with some steroid. Worked some now, back on the mtn in the morning. Have not missed a day in a couple weeks...... Saturday was definitely the crustiest day of the season so far.....

Blows my mind how someone can have the Epic Local pass or whatever the hell it is and go to Keystone on a powder day. :dizzy:

While they think they're having an EPIC DAY on their 3" or whatever they got in the donut hole, they're probably riding boot deep a few miles up the road at A-Basin.

The back side of key and the trees has been really fun this winter. Its a little flat in spots for some of the bigger dumps we got this season, but I'll deal with it. For me, during a storm Abay is hard to ride, I get vertigo really bad there...no contrast at all.

Now copper is a different story. Thankfully I have both passes! Was 100% worth it this season! 67 days and counting....

Had some federal agents at the top of the lions head gondola today. That was awesome..... I'm not a smoker but they were trying to find guilt by association, not happening. They could not find anything but cited a couple people because they would not allow a search. Those tickets should get tossed as there was no evidence other than "an odor" to base their decision on. It was fun since we had a couple locals that are attorneys in our cabin.

Snow was crusty as hell, made 7 lift rides and I'll chill until it warns up a bit.
