I know it's early, but damn, we need some snow.

Thanks dudes. I definitely plan on getting all the gear over the summer, along with an avalung and a llvl 1 class come next winter. Going to be expensive, around 2500 for everything, but I think it I'll be worth it. Thanks for the tip on the friends of Bp thing too, il definitely have to hop on that. My biggest issue is lack of a group to go with so I think il start with just skinning in bounds before lifts turn to start out, and hopefully I can meet some like minded individuals in the process.

when youre ready hit me up. My friend and I are new to this BC this year after finishing AIARE level 1 in spring of 2015. We have mostly been skinning inbounds with a couple tours in safer BC areas. We still have a lot to learn but all about making the right choices and getting back to the car safely.

What size split you looking to get? I have another friend saying he wants to buy my Rome Whiteroom 165 but he doesn't I may have a good deal for you. Board is just to big for me.

I was actually about to ask about that. My wife and I usually get the Epic Local since we are flat landers. But the price is up to over 600 a pop and I'm not sure it's worth it. So we are debating between the Copper pass, Summit County pass, and the Loveland pass. Slightly leaning towards the Summit County pass just because we like Breck so much. Any solid advice from the native folks? I have never been to Copper so I have no idea how good it is. I would assume it is a hell of a lot less busy on weekends than the Vail resorts. Does it have pretty good glade skiing? The wife and I mainly stick to the trees. I like Loveland too but most of that is above tree line so I don't think it is a very valid option.

Steamboat would be the only reason I would get a RMSP, but not worth the price difference. Going full Copper for 409 and then doing the Basin for 299. Which is about 20 dollars more than an Epic Local now that they raised the prices. Basically Vail can suck my wet fart out of my butthole.

In other news I swear it's fucking fall up here.

Looking forward to the winter. Just bought my split - NS Prospector and some Spark Surges. Looking for some split partners for the upcoming season if anyone's interested. Il be Avy 1 certified prior to any excursions.

P.S. I have a new in box Voile split board binding hardware kit for sale if anyone's interested. They retail 160, selling to anyone local (don't want to deal with online payment and shipping BS) for 120 bucks.

Personal gripe. It's not a certification. There is no pass fail component to taking an Avy 1 or 2. All you get is a piece of paper that says you slept through the class. Now most people don't do this as they spent real money on a class and actually want to learn.

PM me when you are ready. I spend most of my time at Bert. There are some other spots like RMNP and Vail Pass, but Bert just has the most bang for your buck around here. At least for stuff within 2 hours. Lots of other places like Monarch, Wolf Creek, Buffalo, Cameron, and Red Mountain passes that have a lot of fun stuff too. Just a bit more time and effort required in playing at those spots.

That article.

So let me tell you a little bit about that article as well as the current state of the housing market we're in. Yes there are people that are too stupid to realize that places like Breckenridge are in high demand and have a high cost of living. So they save up maybe a grand to move with and show up around this time of the year. They get here and realize that mud season isn't the best time to move when you have little saved money and don't know anyone. So they can't find a job as everyone has already staffed up with the locals for the off season or isn't hiring. They can't find housing because they don't have the necessary first, last, and deposit they need and don't have a job lined up.

Then you get the people that show up 2 to 3 months from now thinking they can just saunter in and find a place to live super easily because the season is here. But low and behold those with any brain locked in housing months ago so they would be set up for the season.

Does the housing up here and in places like JH suck? Oh hell yeah I just spent 2 months looking for a place. I was poached 4 times on various locations I had dialed in. I had to fight numerous people to find anything. I got lucky on my new spot that I'm about to move into because the girls that were there were allowed to pick who was going to replace them. I was also the only person sitting on a first and deposit so I could throw money at the place. That was $3,200 right there. Luckily the owner of the place has had it paid off since 1990 and it's all equity to him. I also signed a 2 year lease with just me on it to lock this place in at this rate. $1,600 bucks for a place one block off main street right in the heart of the arts district. I'm lucky and took a huge risk to get it. 2 blocks to the gondola, 1 block to all restaurants, and walking distance to everything.

But when I found out I got the place I had the girl that was next in line reach out to me and offer me $600 bucks plus I could sign a lease on her place. I had 4 other people get my number and send me angry texts about me getting it. I had 2 people hit me up to be my roommate that were one the potential list to get the place. I've had no less than 8 people I don't know come see me at my day job trying to convince me to let them live with me. This is what it's like with a 2% vacancy in Summit.

Right now I will tell anyone considering moving to Colorado to not do it unless you have no less than 6 grand to move with, a steady year round job already lined up, and you're willing to sacrifice. The ski bum lifestyle is one of sacrifice and it's tough. Real real tough. Last year I had to live with 5 other guys and a dog in a 5 bedroom 2 bath.

I personally know only three people who have maintained the snow bum lifestyle for a sustained period of time (going on 12 years for all three). All of them are trustfunders who know they're set to inherit millions. They just have to wait it out. It makes it a little easier to "bum it" when you know serious financial backup is coming.

This may be a long shot. Looking for 2 tickets to Travis Rice "The forth phase" next Thursday 9/29 in Denver. It's sold out online and I cannot find any 3rd party sites selling marked up tickets. Really want to go to this with my wife. If anyone knows where I can get a set of tickets please PM me.

ABay and Loveland are blowing snow like crazy today, but looking at the forecasted temps through 10/18 I don't see the point other than being able to post pics of snow guns blowing on social media. Hell, maybe that is the point. No freezing temps in the forecast through 10/18 after tomorrow.
Added an A-Basin season pass to get an early start... haha
Working like a charm. :laugh2:
