I know it's early, but damn, we need some snow.

Colorado | OpenSnow

That shit looks like a repeat of last season.

In regards to the comment about snowboard companies. Snowboarding needs to cull the herd a bit and kill off some of these weaker companies/shit stain mediums/put the hurt on the big guys. Cycle of life man. More worried about the towns, water run off, wild fires, etc. etc. That shit is more detrimental than a few weak brands.

I am not using my 10 days at Beaver Creek any time soon. Keystone is faring a little better. The last day I rode was Friday and they had some new runs opened. They had Flying Dutch Man open and they also opened Jackwacker.

It's not WROD status anymore. There are more runs open and less people cause they would rather play golf or whatever people do in Denver. Not much in lift lines or crowds. It's pretty quiet. I bought my pass a long time ago during the summer when I had 2 fuller time jobs.

I have only been to Breckenridge once this year and damn it was deader than Keystone.

Really? Maybe it's just weekends, but everytime I check the Base Peak 8 cam at Breck the lines look absolutely insane since they have nothing open. Keystone hasn't been too bad lately, wish I wouldn't have been so lazy and gone this weekend. It's not like conditions are great(like you said it's not as bad as the early November shit show they had going on with one run), they've certainly upgraded from WROD status, but we need some damn real snow.

I'd just like to come in with a shred of good news. I cover agriculture for my job and at a trade show last week I attended a presentation by the top business weather forecasting firm. They are saying that it's going to be a mild beginning and end to the season, but that late December through February is going to be very intense with a lot of storm activity coming to the Rockies and elsewhere. Here's hoping they're right. Won't help me much, I've already got a trip booked to Summit County Dec. 26-Jan. 2, but I'm hoping I can at least catch the beginning of the turnaround in weather.

well changed my flight and lodging last night to Tahoe for my trip on Dec 15-22. Was going to Beaver Creek/Vail but unforunetly the weather isnt cooperating. I'm sure the local businesses are really starting to feel the pinch. Hopefully things improve for my family trip the last week of January to BC.

I am not sure that I'll be able to make it out west this season (no $$$), except maybe for a bachelor party in April.... but it sucks seeing how little snow is on the ground out west.

I'm not sure if it is global warming or just a strange climate cycle, but we've been in the mid 60's here in Atlanta for much of the past 10 days. It is supposed to get up to 73 today. It was 48 when I rode the bike in to work.

Great for jogging, but makes it hard to dress for an entire day out. (25 degree swing, wtf?)

I know that WA and CA have gotten at least one dumping apiece... the cams for jackson show them blowing snow and the report for snowbird shows a 31" depth on the top and nothing mid or lower mountain.

Better than last year, but still seems too low to call it getting 'hammered'

Anyone been up to the Basin lately? If so how was it? I'll be there a week from Thurs. Looks awful on the cams, and nothing really good open. Looks like I'll be spending a lot of time on the kiddie runs with my GF, oh well maybe I'll learn butters or ride switch a lot :) At least the Dew tour is there, so it won't be a complete wash. Already planning another trip, late Feb. early March.

Still a single white ribbon of death run off the top of Needles Gondi running down to mid mountain. A lot of really good looking park stuff off the right though. If you're into park that's pretty nicely setup.
Hopefully we're back into a storm pattern now.

I hit Brighton on Monday they are doing really well considering how dry it's been.
