headed up to Copper tonight when I get off work around 8. Either staying with a friend or in the back of my SUV. Psyched for tomorrow!!! Send me a PM if you want to ride
trying to change my flight tomorrow morning to friday so I can head up there and take advantage. So far with the way the winter has been, this could be one of the only pow days. Hopefully thats not the case.
For Copper I'd probably try catching the Super Bee lift to start. That is the six pack and it takes you to the top of the mountain. Watch for Alpine lift opening, that can be pretty tasty pow runs before it gets bumped out. Resolution and Sierra are the other ones to watch, but some how I doubt those will open. Maybe by the weekend, but I would think those spots are another decent storm out from opening.
It was quite pleasant at Loveland today. Nowhere near the snow elsewhere got though. That divide is playing some good defense right now. Just keep snowing! Everything that's open now is nice, we just need more snow to get more open.
I totaled the snow fall in Dillon. Thus far we have accumulated to almost a foot. I live at a lower elevation, so the resorts should have a lot more. We are in a winter weather advisory for 5-16 inches till 5pm on Wednesday. Back Country Riders, FYI they also issued an avalanche warning. :yahoo: Winter!
This is such an improvement, I have been thinking of building a small jump near my building. One of the other complexes has a jib set up already. I think a jump would cause less trouble and go un noticed.
I was watching patrol slide stuff under the BME all day. There was a pile up on Hwy 9 yesterday so I ended up sitting on the bus for over 2 hours while the Basin got tracked out. Another pile up this morning just past swan mountain Rd. We decided to stay an extra day....maybe 2
Heal up man. There will be more powder days after this one. In fact they'll be better. As rad as all this snow is, the base is not that great yet. At least the getting is starting to get good. I got a hunch January is going to be a blast and probably just a little cold...
How shitty are A basin and Keystone after this dumping? I'm going to Summit County for a week on the 26th and I already have the epic 4 pack to those two resorts.
Well Keystone is always shitty nothing can fix that. A basin should be doing a bit better, Breck seems to be the place that came out ahead in the storm though, Copper was doing good beforehand so this only made them better.
Made a quick edit from Sunday (16th), which was before another 19" fell at Vail. Wish I could have been there today / yesterday / Monday, but at least it felt good to find some fresh soft stuff.
Go easy on me. First time editing, GoPro held in hand (need to make a pole mount). Also, I'm pretty sure someone has used that song in a video before, but ahh well.
