How's the snow in Utah?
Compared to Mammoth, should I be setting my bindings back a bit for the snow in Utah or will my Cali setup work okay? I'm heading to Canyons this weekend. Running 21.5" stance on a 152 .. usually 12/-12 but going to 12/-6 it up this time around.

The snow sucks. Stay there or go to ColoRADo. Talisker can eat a dick.
FYI that doesn't really say anything to me. I think you mean your setback stance? |

Um unless they get any powder why would you set back your stance?

I'd say how much snow they get, your skill level, and what your weight is relative to the board size will determine if you need to set your stance back at all.

Just bring tools along to move your bindings if you're sinking.

Snows been great, pretty good season so far, January has been a bit dry. Though its supposed to snow 1-2 feet in northern utah by saturday, at least in the cottonwoods. Park City/The Canyons will get less, maybe half or around 10-12 inches. Definitely get your powder stance on.

Based on the timing of the storm and he fact that you will be at the canyons, dont worry about setting your bindings back. Most of it is coming tonight so tommorrow would be the day to really get after it. You will still have good snow on the weekend but the wide open deep lines where you would want a setback will be tracked out. just ride with the stance your confortable with and have fun.
And also bring a tool in case Im completely wrong..... |
And dont be a lemming and follow everyone out of the gate unless you know what you are doing. The avy dangler rating is going to be considerable this weekend and that side of the ridgeline has been pretty active this year.
