Wife is going to Ogden, UT, to visit some friends and to a trade show, and I'm thinking "BORING"... but then I realize there'd be some great 'boarding near there.
So now I'm tagging along. What I'd like to know is: has anyone used the UTA "ski transportation" bus from Ogden to any of the ski areas nearby? If you have, how was it? If you haven't, are there any specific reason(s) you didn't take it? I'm just wondering if I should drive to the ski areas or if I should just hop on the bus and doze for an hour while someone else does the driving for me. I also live in Wisconsin, where I get plenty of snow so I'm not afraid of driving in the white stuff, but we don't have any mountains, and I haven't a clue what the roads are like to the resorts. Thanks, -Pred

I don't think there is any bus service to the local areas for Ogden. Powder Mountain and Snowbasin. Which are each about 20 minutes away depending on where you are in Ogden. The roads are pretty good up Ogden Canyon, which is the way I would recommend getting there. Ogden Pass or whatever it's called is very slow going in comparison and you don't gain anything except different scenery by driving over it.
Both Powder Mountain and Snowbasin are well worth your time to visit and generally less crowded then the resorts to south by Salt Lake City. |

I think the bus service is "new" which is probably why you don't know of it... but if you think I shouldn't have (too) much trouble driving Ogden Canyon, I'll do exactly that. Thanks for the response!
