I can mathematically prove that leaving early is pussy talk.

Using your numbers, consider total travel time for a day of riding, 90 minutes both ways, or three hours total. In the case where you leave at 1 (which realistically means you stop riding at more like 12:30) you will only get at most four hours of riding time in, assuming no breaks and one of the CO mountains that opens at 8:30 on weekends. So if you leave early, you get 240 minutes of lift accessed riding time for 180 minutes of travel, or a 4:3 riding:driving ratio.

On the other hand, if you have testicles of titanium and stay through last chair, you get an additional three and a half (or four, if you're at a resort that stays open until 4:30) hours of ride time for the cost of sitting in traffic on the ride home, which you guess at about an hour and a half of extra drive time. Calling it two hours for the occasional super shit drive, that puts our total at 450 minutes ride time and 300 minutes of drive time, or a much superior 3:2 ride time:drive time ratio.

Not only is it still more efficient, but you're also getting more riding time in, which will further fortify your mind and body against additional weak talk in the future.

Simply typing, "I'm a fucking idiot who is talking out of his ass to try to sound cool and tough" would've been much more efficient.

TL : DR

It basically says he's a moron. Leaving before 2 PM on Sundays is the only option, unless you want to listen to a couple new albums on the way back.. I can get 15k of vert in before 2, that's enough for me.

OP, I'd get Loveland or the epic local if I were you. Just pick one and get familiar then change to the other one in a couple years.

Oh, I apologize, I didn't realize this was a forum for snowboarders who only ride when it's convenient. Do you need a chauffeur as well? Maybe a team of laborers to carry you from the lift to the goods?

That would be ideal. Wanna send an email to Rob Katz for me?

It just doesn't make any sense to me to sit in 2+ hours of traffic to get in an extra couple of hours of riding. You'd make exactly one 5+ hour "drive" (i.e. creeping 20 feet forward at a time) back from Summit County before making the same decision. Everyone out here who has half a brain knows that Sunday ends at 1pm at the latest if you're in Summit or Vail. You can roll the dice and stretch it to 2pm if you're at Loveland.

We're spoiled because we live out here. We ride good snow and good mountains all the time. We don't have to torture ourselves to sit in god awful traffic to squeeze in a couple more hours of riding on a Sunday afternoon.

I love how someone who has no freaking idea what he is talking about gives advice.

I gave my bit of advice. It is up to the OP to decide what he wants to deal with. The consequences of your decisions were put out there. The two hour jam is common, not occasional.

Again, if you knew the region you'd know what we are talking about, but you don't.

The bigger question is are you still riding? I know I am...
