I love how you assume that you're the only place on the planet that has midwinter traffic, that's still riding, and that ever gets pow.

You gave out numbers, and those numbers still favor staying later and driving longer. If the initial cost of three hours of driving is worth it for you for 3-4 hours of riding, why is another two hours of driving not worth it for you for another 3-4 hours of riding?

Keep in mind, I ask this question as someone who happily absorbs giant delays in silly 10 MPH traffic down the mountain during the winter.

EDIT: And as someone who is still riding.

This is completely illogical but I'd rather drive an hour with no traffic going 80mph than be stuck in bumper to bumper traffic going 5mph for 30 min. I fucking hate traffic. Thank god for the subway in NYC so I rarely have to drive anywhere or I'd kill somebody.

I ride more than enough weekdays to make up for an early day on Sunday. TBH I'm typically over it by 1-3 PM anyway, It's usually beat up and full of idiots in the afternoon anyway. I don't really like taking breaks, I ride hard enough to be pooped by then. Do that many of you guys close the resort down every time?!?

I get mad if I'm going under 20 on the Interstate, If it's really bad I'll just stop at black hawk and to drink and gamble until the traffic dies down. It costs me to much to leave late on Sundays.

Congrats on your move, Lakewood is awesome! I hang out at the Lakewood grill quite a bit.

Well, I live in Wisconsin, but I thought I'd tell you all the best way to navigate LA traffic.

The only thing close to I70 is I80 on a Sunday night headed back to the bay. I70 is without a doubt the worst, and nowhere else holds a candle to it. Be thankful for that.

The solution is to live in eagle or summit county..... My commute is 5 minutes and I can snowboard to within 100 yards of work and home....

If you live frontrange, fuck that traffic, my longest delay was 5 hours when a friend got a returning flight on a Sunday.... I don't know how you guys live with that shit. Leaving by 1 is the only way on Sunday but also don't drive up on Friday night or saturday morning(unless it's super early).

It's pretty fucking terrible. When I first moved out here I got stuck in a few 5 hour delay trips. They made me contemplate not snowboarding on a weekend ever again.

here is a guide for Keystone

on weekends, leave at 10-11, take Loveland pass, snag a spot in the Peru lot, ride till as late as possible. chill for a few hours, leave at 6 or 7.

unless its january, the road conditions suck, and its mobbed, you'll get a good 4-5 hour day in with minimal traffic.

otherwise ya leave for the mountains early as fuck and leave early
