Default Buying Never Summer in Japan

Hi guys,

So my snowboarding dream is finally coming to an end. I have been lucky enough to spend the last 7 seasons living in Canada. As I am out of visas I am heading back to Australia.

Looking forward I would say my next snowboarding trip will be to Japan. By then I will be looking at buying a new board. I want to get another NS but don't want to buy one here and have it sit unused for a year or two. Can someone tell me how hard they are to find in Japan? Also what are the prices like?

Thanks.

NS boards are available in Japan. But not widely carried and expensive. GUMP is the authorized dealer and is on the Surf & Snow gurunavi platform:

Check Ebay and have it delivered from the US or Europe. That's how I got mine, I bet even with shipping it will probably be cheaper than buying in Japan.

Cherri Pow in Jindy used to be the Distributor in Australia!!!!!

I reckon they'd be just as expensive in Japan as they are here!!!!!

Pretty sure that you'll get the latest model on sale too, as we get the first shipment in the SoHe!!!!! (Will still be dearer than US, but will ease the pain somewhat?????)

One of these days i would like to try one of your boards in the powder here. Because so far, both my wife and i are starting to wonder what it is that makes people enjoy deep powder so much. Hard to get pop for jumping, and man that back leg takes a beating

(granted, I do ride a park board mostly)

have you ridden a serious pow board before? if you havent, you might change your mind, esp about the back leg

No i havent, but then i figured most people dont have serious pow boards, yet they go gaga over it. Maybe because those that do only ever see one or two powder runs a day?

We were in Hakuba last weekend where it was knee deep pretty much all over the resort (deeper in others). Ski tracks tells me i did 18 runs and a total of 31km during the day i was there, i would expect 80% of that was at least knee deep (a lost wallet/liftpass took a good 2hr chunk out of the day). I could cope for the most part, just swapped to switch when the rear leg started burning too much...

But it was a hard day on the legs, and since i was mostly concentrating on not falling (which would mean having to dig myself out), i wasnt able to try any tricks or fun stuff except slashes.

Thats why i want to try one of ETMs powder killers. Or any serious pow board i guess.
