Park City Area 2/15 thru 2/22 - Snowboarding Forum

Hey all - I'm going to be in Park City for a week with a few friends.

If anyone else on this forum is going to be in the area (we're staying in downtown PC) and wants to hook up and ride, party, or both, let me know for sure. I think we've got 5 confirmed, 3 boarders and 2 skiers of varying abilities. A sixth is tentative with a knee injury (that's what you get for playing basketball over Christmas holiday...)

I'm interested in making the drive out to powmow for a day, and maybe to snowbird or snowbasin or something else that's not in Park City proper, I don't expect you to show me your secret stash (and I'm not asking!) but if anyone's willing to show us around that would be

sure thing - what mountains are you hitting?

We'll probably be doing a few days each at Canyons & PCMR (I have 8 lift tickets for PCMR that I got on ebay for about $60) and I'd like to hit at least one of the out-of-town mountains, but I'm undecided as to which one to make the trip for.

I didn't even know you could buy lift tickets on ebay. I gotta go check it. I'll be staying at the super8. My friend is supposed to come but if that doesn't happen I'll be doing the local brighton/solitude deal and riding solo.

If I rent a vehicle I'll check out powder and some other resorts if I can.

Check out goutah.com for $62 tix to Canyons and maybe some other places. Or check liftopia.com

Cool thanks for the heads up. I've been checking liftopia as well. I liked the canyons better than PC last time I went out there.

I liked the Canyons better, too. But I only got one day on each of canyons & PCMR due to blizzard & rain the last time I was there.

ask for Darren at the front desk .. tell him burritosandsnow from twitter sent you .. he may look at you like youre speaking japanese or he may give you a discount ...

wonder if you can to the pairpass at the canyons but use them on separate days ... im gonna ssume no but you never knew hehe

gimmie a shout for Brighton MAG and dave I may or may not jumpon a spur of the moment canyons ticket but if you decide on Brighton gimmie a shout .... powmow and snowbaisin have had crappy years if you to venture out and need steeps id go with solitude or snowbird

Just checking the 10-day forecast and it looks like shit. About 38 degrees and sunny. I guess it could be worse, but f*cking christ is it too much to ask for one decent powder day? I've been flying from DTW to resorts all over the continent for the better part of a decade now...

We arrive around noon on Monday, so I'm thinking of hitting PowMow for the twilight 3pm pass ($15) just to get a few hours warm up. On Sunday we check out, but our flight home isn't till monday AM, so we might book-end the trip at PowMow for another twilight ride if we got any legs left at that point...

We've got 8 tickets to PCMR between the 4 of us that we'll probably burn pretty early, like Tuesday/Wednesday hoping to avoid crowds by riding there midweek. After that, Thursday thru Saturday I could be persuaded to ride anywhere in the area. What's best on Saturdays in terms of avoiding the dreaded crowds?

Anyways, I'm working up an itinerary now and based on your advice, so I'll add at least one day at either Brighton/Solitude/Snowbird. If you're down to ride Brighton, I'll either commandeer our minivan and meet you up there, and leave the rst of my group in PC, or convince them that it's in their best interest to venture out of the city.

This is kinda what I'm looking at right now:

Monday
Arrival around lunch time. Get rental car. Find something for lunch. Consider ~4hrs of riding at PowMow for $15. That's a bargain and we should get some daylight left, too. Ride until 7 and we can get back in the car and get to PC in time to go out for the night.

Tuesday
PCMR

Wednesday
Solitude/Brighton/Snowbird

Thursday
PCMR
Anthony arrives in the afternoon so we need to stay local to meet him when he arrives, and use the rest of my vouchers to PCMR.

Friday
Canyons

Saturday

Solitude/Brighton/Snowbird

Sunday

PowMow for more twilight $15 night riding, legs permitting. Or, just sleep.
