Default Silverton / Wolf Creek Meet in 2012

Trying to gauge interest in a trip out to CO in the winter of 2011/12. My thinking is Wed/Thur/Fri/Sat/Sun or something to that effect. 2 days Wolf Creek, 2 days Silverton depending on conditions.

Would have to fly into Albuquerque (ABQ) and drive bout 4 hours which is tough, but the mountains are epic.

Info:

Objective:Get after the goods! 5-6 days of riding in the Wolf Creek region. A few days at Wolf Creek resort exploring there in-bounds terrain and sidecountry. Perhaps a day trip to Silverton (it's a 3 hour drive from Pagosa Springs.) 2-3 days riding backcountry.

Timeframe: March? of 2012

Places to stay:

Pagosa Springs
Pros
- 4 hrs from ABQ, NM
Cons
-Side of pass closes more frequently in bad weather.

South Fork
Pros
Cons
- 4.5 hrs from ABQ, NM
- 5 hrs from DIA, Denver, CO

Well the chance to hit Silverton sounds like an excellent idea. My only issue is free time and money. I might just have a lack of both but I will try pretty hard to make it work.

It is a possibility for me, but Silverton may be over my head at this point, I would probably just stay in wolf creek. Silverton looks really cool and defiantly want to acquire the skills to board there some day. What month and day are you planning this for? I could do this in 2011.

I agree with wolfie. If I go out west I want to see the extreme stuff. Well as extreme as I can handle anyway, Not quite the level of all the ridding in Deeper. Otherwise I might as well just stay at Jay Peak. Steep & Deep. I would even be happy with steep & cheep and just go for a split oriented trip but I dont know if there is enough interest from guys here for that.
