Riding in Rhode Island - Snowboarding Forum

Whats up guys,
I've been boardin in Mountain Creek/my friends backyards in New Jersey, but due to the start of the semester im back in URI (university of ri) and I was wondering if there is any place in RI where there's a somewhat steep hill with maybe an amateur made jump or two. I'm not looking for a resort mountain just a place to fuck aroundd. Anyone have any ideas? Also if one of you know a nice hill with a decent amount of powder I'm down to make some jumps and shittt. Thankss

Well, you're in luck, the only lift-serviced area in RI is less than 5 miles away: Yawgoo Valley. It's small, but they have a few park features I believe. I've never actually ridden it since the only time I went was before I started snowboarding, but it is well known as the only in-state option. I grew up in RI and am a URI alumnus, but I live in central Mass now. Have fun!

Seems like a lifetime ago when I was at URI......Yawgoo is not cheap though. Diamond Hill in Lincoln is an old ski resort with a pretty steep hill. I'm sure there's a couple jumps to mess around on. It's quite popular for sledding, etc.
