Wow, that's some pretty bad ass hauling and the pay sounds spectacular, good luck!

Our Snowolf is going to be an Ice Road Trucker!!

Thanks for the vids and TR write up. I had seen your TR before and I will take the time to read again and watch the vids this week. I kinda suspected I would need a car, shouldn't be an issue getting one I suppose.

Good luck, Snowolf! I know you'd like to be back in the Last Frontier.

Mt. Aurora would be too far without a car ... it's likely we can get together so you can save some $$ on a rental/cab. Cabs are ridiculous here, then again, they are everywhere.

Bummer on the job front... Got me l excited a free snowboard instructor at my disposal. Sorry that's the Fairbanks funk talking! Damn -35 and I randomly woke up this morning at 545 looked outside and saw my car plug wasn't lit... I had to get up gear up and go out go fix it. Then throw wood in the fire since I was up anyway. Oh for my own sanity please let it be warm enough on Friday to shred.

I hit up Moose Mtn opening weekend... they were NOT ready to open. Skiland is awaiting another 4-6 inches... which they may have gotten this week so hopefully they will open this weekend or next. I hit up Birch Hill -- i like that they have night boarding... works well with the hours Im actually awake... Birch Hill reminded me of winterplace back home near the VA line ... groomed but alot like a sheet of ice... got a nice bruise off a patch of ice trying out some new stuff...and the halfpipe was not nearly ready therefore closed.. not a big place but fun to mess around at.

Cant wait to hit Alyeska Feb 3-5 ... then a week at Breck. I neeeed a break from this place!!

Hey Christina what's the deal in Fairbanks right now? I know its frigid but have you all been getting some snow? Are the hills fun? I am trying to decide what to do now regarding my trip. Alyeska has been getting hammered so consistently this year I am really considering padding my trip on the front end and doing a layover in Anchorage to ride Alyeska for two days rather than staying over in Fairbanks after my conference. One option I have though is that I'm pretty much finished by 12PM noon on Saturday 2/25, do you think it would be possible to hit a hill that afternoon and get back to the FB airport in time for a 6:55PM flight to Anchorage? What's the window of daylight going too be there at the end of Feb? I do really want to ride in Fairbanks, just b/c its on my bucket list or whatever I think as long as the daylight situation works then I may just do that. Are you going to be around then?

I should be around - I dont go to Barrow until the week after. It should be warm enough, and if your flight to Anc is at 6:55, you have plenty of time to board. Skiland (which just opened but hasnt been open because its too cold!) is 30 miles out of town and Moose Mtn is just outside of town and you'd rather hit those than birch hill which is just that... a hill hill. Anyway Moose and Skiland are usually open 10-3/4 because of daylight. Only birch hill has night boarding. You will have plently of light - we have been gaining it back. So in theory, you have plenty of time to get to the airport. If you are checking bags, you need at least an hour. Fairbanks airport is small... then again you should have seen the old one.

I'll PM you my info. I dont mind driving you around...I carry a gun.

Btw if you have a chance to hit Alyeska DO IT! I am going in a couple weeks. They have the second deepest basedepth in north america next to eagle crest - also in alaska. I heard the snow is just ridiculously awesome right now and it just keeps coming down down there.

Snowolf - PM me you info sometime. I'm always down to board here, obviously, and if I know ahead of time, I could make a trip to Anchorage if the money is there for me to do it.

Yep, I decided to have a two day layover in Girdwood on my way to Fairbanks! Can't pass up riding Alyeska under ideal conditions hopefully. Everyday I check the powder reports Eaglecrest and Alyeska are always vying for the number one spot......I really enjoyed riding Eaglecrest last year in February, though they were having no where the season they are this year, but that mountain kicks ass! I have been to Alyeska twice, but hopefully I will be able to get on North Face this time!
