Ditto on the zero experiance but I'll do it anyway. Hell I had less than zero experiance with trees until those mother fuckers took me to the ugly tree then left me. Tree riding is both awesome and painful all at the same time. I'm hooked.

I wouldn't get too stressed over East Coast BC. Avalanche danger around Jay is practically nil. About the only thing that might have slide potential is Jailhouse chute, which you don't want to mess with. The real danger is getting hurt out there, hitting a tree, etc.

In BC I had the chance to slide into a bowl or two that's next to the trails... but not officially marked... THAT was an absolutely amazing time.... not a lift in sight, and WIDE open fresh-powder-first-tracks terrain.
