to save me the pain of flipping through all these pages, can those of you in my area speak up on the plan as it stands? sooo...tj, dcp, snowgypsy, mooz, whoever whoever...

whose driving- gypsy? when are ya'll leaving & coming back?

i talked to my ex & he swears he'll let me go this time. gotta get the monies in with a quickness & figure out my transportation. i'm on a pretty tight schedule that i haven't given much thought to, but what i'll probably do is try to leave thursday or friday after i put my kids on the bus & then drive home monday.

hmm, well if they're staying the whole time then i'm outta any kind of ride share. tj- mooz mentioned that you might be flying? is that only because you need to be home by monday? if so, then maybe you & i can work something out w/ driving?

Jen, you might look at flights. To be honest with the price of gas you might be able to get a flight for about the same. Especially if you are looking at going solo. Just a thought.

Jen I checked some flights, Dulles to Burlington is $256 (that includes all taxes and extras). 2 people taking a SUV with GOOD gas milage (15mpg) will drop $120 each on just gas. Add food n such in on an 11 hour trip and it really does become well worth the extra cash to take the one hour flight.

i mean, two people splitting gas is cheaper than two people both flying. if tim decides to fly then i'm solo & would have to fly too. honestly, i'd rather take a 1 hour flight than a 14 hour drive! it'd work out better for me too. my problem is i don't have hundreds of dollars at my disposal to use whenever i want...meaning, i can't book the flight right now & save that extra costs.

oh, what about checking the board...did you find out how much extra that costs?

Depends on who you are flying with. If it was Southwest, they wouldn't charge anything. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they fly into Burlington though. I would keep an eye out though. Last year I was finding flights to Seattle from Denver for just over $100. Keep your eye open and you might find one. About the only thing I can say is you have to be a little flexible on dates, by a day or so. Basically not flying on weekend days is the main thing.
