in light of my plans to go to Snowshoe this weekend i thought i'd throw out the idea of having a mini-meet at Snowshoe sometime soon.
we found cabins that are 45 minutes away from the mountain. they sleep 8, have a kitchen, fireplace & hot tub...for $120 per night!! with 8 people that's $15 per person per night! so i'm thinking we get 8 of us together for a lil mini-meet weekend! oh! and since intrawest is raping us with it's raised ticket price of $75, i can buy all the lift tickets at our ski shop here in sterling at a discounted rate of $59. so yeah, let me know if ya'll are down & which weekend would work best. i'll let you know what i think of the cabins when i get back on sunday, but you can check them out on their website in the meantime... i don't know, the end of january would probably be good for me.
so 45 mins was a lie. it took us 2 hours to get to the cabins from snowshoe because it was snowing the whole way & those mountain roads are pretty wicked in the snow. so we'll have to think about that. aside from the time it takes, the cabins aren't too bad. there isn't much privacy to them & we'd be sharing beds, but if ya'll are cool with that then it's whatever. i'll post some pics up in a bit. |

We went out for opening weekend and stayed at the Boyer motel about 45 minutes away. The rooms were small and the place was sketch, but a room with two beds was only $60 night or $15 per person. Another option is to stay in the "town" at the base. I mangled my elbow that weekend and while I was talking to ski patrol I found out there were some cheap rental cabins that weren't advertised on the internet. If we could find out how to book one, that may be the way to go. I'd also be down with staying in one of the mountain cabins if enough people went so that it wasn't so damn expensive. Anyway, I should hopefully be healed around New Years and would be up for a trip sometime afterward. Hit me up.

Could you post some more info on the unadvertised cabins or where they are located? |
