The Trice isn't horrible in the pow by any means. It's a little larger than your normal deck. In saying that, if you want a GREAT powder board then the Beast probably wouldn't be it, it'd be good but there are better ones out there for sure.
ok so where does the Beast fit in compared to the T rice.
From what I can gather, its a directional, setback C3 Btx (aka more camber than T rice Pro C 2 BTX)
It would probably do better in pow and be pretty good for all mtn.. but not sure how the T rice fits in otherwise.
Ok so I just had a more detailed look at the specs. I was probably a bit hasty in saying it wouldn't be a great powder board - it probably would. But there are still better I think. As far as I can see it's got everything covered except I'd like to see it have a little more taper.
For a dedicated powder board these are my current picks (and there are so many more out there):
Rossignol XV
Arbor A-Frame or Shreddy Krueger (2015)
Salomon Sickstick
Burton Landlord
If you're set on a Mervin board then I guess the Lib Tech Birdman is the best pow specific board in their lineup. From memory I think ETM might have one and loved it.
Don't restrict yourself to one brand though, there's a lot of fish in the sea.
