Seems Like there are more members these days that frequent the Pocono Area Resorts/Hills.
I figured I would start a thread to get the Stoke going.
and provide a thread to set up some meets and greets

Leaves are starting to Turn, Nights are getting cooler. Time to start our Snow Dance, for another pre thanksgiving opening

Great idea and I will be reviving our local Meet-n-Greet as time draws closer. Got to meet some great local guys to ride with last year. Every year I make more and more riding buddies. Great times !!

Last night only about 9:30'ish was the 1st evening of the year I could now see my breath at night. Looking just over 60 days for us here. Of course with mother natures cooperation.

Moved into a new apartment got the boards out of storage and they are sitting in my living room until I put up the wall racks absolutely killing me. I'm on the second floor hmm maybe if I blast the AC enough I can get a snow machine going in the stairway and build a ramp at the bottom.....

Might piss off my downstairs neighbors though

I may actually have to turn the heat on this weekend. Seems a week or two earlier than usual. Though the long term isn't really showing sub freezing temps even at night for at least another month.

Killington usually shoots for last weekend in Oct for an opening. With last day of the month falling on a Sat maybe there is a chance for the 24th.

The heat was on in my building last night.. though I did think it wasn't really necessary.

Also, looks like the temps will be going up a bit after this storm passes. At least around here anyways. :gaah:

I spent two days at Blue Knob last season. Small hill but I loved it. No fuss, no muss, no fanciness. Just a shack of a lodge and dirt cheap lift tickets. Decent grooming, friendly lifties and new snow on the second day. Bunked down in a cheap hotel in Altoona and found a nice brewpub in town.

I definitely want to return. I'm in PG County MD.

I'm going into my third season. I was on a Groupon trip to Montage during my first season when I finally stopped busting my ass and my brain figured out this whole snowboarding thing. It also helped that we arrived during an 18" pow dump. That was my fourth time out on a board and it's the reason I'm an addict now.

So I've got a soft spot for the Poconos and considering making a return this season.

Maybe hit Montage again? Only stuck to the greens last time. Now I'm ready to hit those North Face blacks.

Also considering Blue Mountain because it's a shorter drive.
