So the cold air has been pushed back well beyond the current forecast into mid to late January. Today I was kayaking on the Delaware river in a t shirt.

All weather models pretty much show the same thing.

Here's to 2017!

I'm staying optimistic. But yeah weather outlook sucks!! I've gotten one day in Vermont thus far and thats it...

I planned Jay for later in the season so I'm hoping for good snow totals by than and hoping that the cold weather is just delayed and extended into late April could hopefully catch some nice spring riding

Yup. Everything below 1600m melted away, aboth crusts and refrozen cement, south facing slopes didn't even open. And nothing but sunshine until xmas. Same story as last year just replace the mud with ice. Arrr... time to sharpen those edges

Actually a few east coast resorts in wv have already opened and it looks like they will have 3 good nights to fire up the snow guns this weekend. Don't get lost in the long term forecast im expecting most to open by jan 1.

Starting around new years the trend seems to be to dip enough to get some good blowing at least at night. The problem is being 2 weeks away I'm afraid those outlooks may factor in historical averages along with weather patterns.

I doubt my local hill will be able to make it open this weekend. The ground isn't even close to frozen so its going to take a bit to get an initial base. I think I'll end up with a trip to Mount Snow on Sunday.

It can all change at the drop of a hat. My home mountain in Northern Michigan barely had snow around Christmas time, and now has up a 70 inch base with more snow in the forecast. Thank you lake effect.
