Close to ATL / south TN - which is better - Cataloochee vs Sugar - Snowboarding Forum

Sounds like Sugar is the best place in the region - but is it worth the extra 1-2 hrs drive to go to Sugar over Cataloochee - or does Cataloochee hold its own pretty well?

In my experience Cat holds its own pretty well. I would check out Snowshoe for the best in the southeast region.

the 'Looch!!!! FTW !!! I love cataloochee, never been to sugar, like you sugar is another couple hours from looch for me....and im already driving 3 hours to go to the looch, but its pretty nice considering its NC, they keep the park up and running well with kickers and rails/boxes/tubes, etc,etc
