So it looks like depending on how sandy strikes the coast, West Virginia could be looking at about 2 ft of snow!! I might make the trip from NJ if that's the case.

Or its just going to wipe you off the map.

That would be awesome. Maybe I'll paddle a canoe out there.

The news said 30in in some parts, is this still true?

Fuck this storm. My employer is about to washed into the ocean and my house probably fucked from falling trees. All the paths have the eye passing 5 miles south of me in Jersey. South Jersey is so low in elevation that this storm surge, with the forecasted rain, plus a full moon, means im fucked. We barely made it through Irene last year without significant damage, and it looks like sandy is here to finish off where Irene failed.

Seriously though, I hope it's not as bad as the forecasters are predicting it to be. The flooding was bad enough with Irene last year even all the way up in the Catskills (the town of Wyndham was pretty much under water).

hiking a day in 2 feet of heavy wet snow is not as glamorous as it seems....and, w/ no previous base, you will be bouncing off rocks...and if you get hurt, no resort rescue. Sounds bogus
