Can't remember whether it was here on another forum, but I remember during the Sandy stuff, somebody said that Snowshoe was reporting out on Facebook or Twitter, but not on their website.
(I've never been to Snowshoe and I'm not on Facebook. But based on this limited sample and hearsay, I'm on the verge of calling it a trend and starting a rampage against mountains that update only through social media and not through their websites.)

If you like snowshoe its better to fallow them on Facebook than their site. They don't tell you much on the site but keep you rather well informed on the Facebook and are constantly uploading photos.
As for the slopes and the dump they got from sandy, they had just shy of three feet of snow and already had started blowing a few days prior. They were contemplating opening after that, but the area was declared a natural disaster area from all the down trees, power outages, and utility outages so they decided against it. They have been blowing non stop since and posted right after the Sandy dump that they set the date to open to be November 21st (the week of thanksgiving).

Hey guys,
I was up there the 11th-13h this month and conditions were excellent. They still had a few inches of pow and it was snowing while I was up there. Silker creeks parks were great. The basin areas parks were pretty good aswell. The progression park had 3 like 10ft kickers with 2 bonks, like 5 sets of boxes and rails, and a c box up. The main park had one like 20ft kicker with 2 lines of rails ea. w/ 3 rail choices. A big double barrel, 2 big rainbow rails, and some norm boxes and d-f-d rails. |
