I havent been to camelback in YEARS due to discounts i was getting at jack frost/big boulder since my cuz is military (he is now deployed)

The reason i am asking is because camelback is having a KILLER value season pass for$199 for:
mon-fri open to close and sat 3-close....50%off bring a friend pass no limit...plus tons of discounts on everything up there....terrain isnt included but its cheaper to buy it per sesh than for $549 incl....

I cant afford JFBB midweek for $399 nor the full season for $649...i could do $259 for 6 day pass but to me thats dumb!

Just want to know your thoughts on camelback opposed to jfbb

Prolly a dumb question but i really cant play with money by regretting a decision once i get there and im disappointed!

Well jfbb definitely gives u the best of both worlds for PA. Frost is a decent mountain to get some turns in on and BB park is among one of the best on the coast. Camelbacks value pass is tough to turn down, but for only 800ft of vertical, the price is about right. My buddy n I will probably do camelback, but JF is definitely better.

JFBB/Camelback

If I had to choose I would do JFBB over Camelback. The lines at Camelback are monstrous come mid-day which becomes VERY annoying after a short while.

I spend a lot of time at JFBB because of the minimal lines and ability to use Big Boulder as well. Maybe the runs aren't as long but not waiting 20-30mins for the lift is worth it IMO. If you act quick the Preson/Steve 93.3 site has 1/2 off Adult passes for JFBB @ $25 or something with a limit of 5 per purchase.

Yeah but are you talking about weekends? or weekdays? I hear it isn't so bad on the weekdays. Plus unlimited weekdays for 199 all season is better than only 5 tickets for 125...at least for the value. That said I haven't been to JFBB so I can't compare. I might stop by to see what it is about.

JF and BB kinda blow if you ask me. The runs are so so short. Camelback is my favorite mountain in the Poconos aside from ELK, but ELK is too damn far as i live outside of northeast Philly.

If you hang at the park a ton then maybe Camelback won't be your favorite. In order to get into their park you need to buy a park pass online and then watch a dumb video. The park is serviced by its own lift so you can just cruise through whenever you're in the mood (unless you want to get off your board and cut through the trees).

I think overall the trails are much better at Camelback though.

Also, you could always get a Camel Card instead of the pass and just check it out a few times. The card is 49$ and you get like 50% off all off peak hour tix. You then get i think like 25% off peak hour tix. Anddd EVERY 3rd ticket is free. You pretty much go 3 times and it pays for itself.

For instance if you go all week long you can do twice during the week after 3pm for like 20$ each and then go on the weekend all day for FREE.

It's a decent deal for people who don't live close by like me.

Personally i'm interested in checking out Bear Creek this year. Looks like they have some pretty cool park setups and i can pop over during weekdays after work. Anyone been there?

I suppose I didn't read the OP's message too well...my experiences are based purely on weekends. Mid-week I'd think any mountain wouldn't be too bad...apologize for that.

With that being said the worst weekend mountain in my experience is Camelback with Blue Mountain being a close second...based purely on lift wait times.

Hey buddy no need to apologize. I just want to make sure I don't get stuck with crowds! ;) I hate long lines too! I love Blue too but I always stay away from the mountains on weekends. BUT...I just took advantage of that deal for 25 bucks and I picked up some tickets to JFBB. I figured I have never been there and I might end up liking it more and next year maybe I will go there for the season. Hey it is worth the ride! Otherwise I will be using my weekday pass at camelback for 199.

I used to ride a lot at Cameltoe, and it isn't that bad. The best trail is the Nile Mile at night, because there are a lot of little side hits, and its a long trail that you can blast down if you want.

I have been going to JFBB for the past 3 seasons. I had a shop pass season pass. The reason I like JFBB is because Jack Frost has some nice glades (when they are covered), some nice steep, and the One Park is really fun. Big Boulder does what all Pocono mountains should do, and that is focus on their parks. The Park staff at JFBB works really hard to keep a constantly rotating setup in all of the parks, so you will never see the same features from day to day. Plus, the College night is rad @ $15 bucks for a lift ticket (or $25 for the whole day on Wednesday).

The best mountain hands down in the Poconos is Blue. The Lazy Mile never gets old for me.

The lines and crowdedness at all three of those mountains do get old for me, so I try to go during the week as much as possible.

I have never been to Elk but I hear it is awesome. It is too bad it is really far away from Central Jersey.

Hey everyone sorry to bring this post back alive but I got a question. I am going to JFBB for the first time I am thinking of going to Jack Frost only. I am not a park guy and just want to get some turns in. So the question is, Is this the right choice and What is the difference between Camelback and Jackfrost? Is there any long runs like Nile Mile? And how crowded will it be on Sunday? I usually ride on weekdays only.

Thanks all and LET IT SNOW!!!!! :yahoo:

jack frost is better than camelback imo, especially on a weekend. you spend more time in line than on the slopes at camelback. the runs are short at JF but atleast you can get on the lift in a reasonable amount of time and the trails are no where near as crowded so you can just run laps.

when you arrive at JF your at the top of the mountain, all the runs to the right of the terrain park are blue or black and my favorite part about the mountain is that most of these trails have trees that you can ride in and cut through to other trails. its also cool how its setup...the riders left of the mountain is the toughest terrain (east mountain) and it gradually gets easier as you head towards the riders right so it keeps most of the beginners out of the way.

i'm planning to ride there on sunday as long as my pulled ab muscle is up to it. i couldnt even do a situp until yesterday so im still not 100% sure if im going to risk tearing it again, but id be down to shred a few runs if i make it

IMO Jack Frost runs are a lot shorter for the most part, no Nile Mile's or anything of the like but your wait in lift lines will be MUCH shorter. I was a JF last Saturday on a holiday weekend and waited no longer than 5 minutes for a lift and that's pushing it. So you get many more runs in with less wait time. It's a trade off.

The JF park has a bit of everything for all skill levels, nothing too intimidating by any means.

It is the best deal out there in Pocono land man. I asked Blue Mnt if they will match the price and they said, "NO". At least Camel-crack doesn't have black out days includeds weekends after 3 and after March 1st it becomes an anytime pass. It is the best deal going and I re-bought it this year too.
