Yeah thats where i'm from and i dont really have that many friends who enjoy snowboarding as much as i do.so i figured i could hopefully find some peeps who live in Maryland and can chat or even maybe go snowboarding with one day.Let me know.

Yeah it is about 3 hours to wisp from DC area form me as I live right by 270. I hit up whitetail alot more only an hour away helps also. I am always down for some car pooling but once the snow starts to fly we need to get ride share working again.
I'm not native to the mid-atlantic. What should I expect from the local mountains here? I grew up in Vermont boarding Stowe and Jay, and just moved here from Cali where I hit up Mammoth alot. I realize the mountains here are not the same, but how long are the runs, do they get any pow days and are they super crowded on weekends? Just trying to temper expectations...
No your standards are just fine it is the small ass mountains that are messed up around here. I go out west four weeks a year at least to board and to the alps for two if I can make it. Every where is packed around here on the weekend it is what it is. Wisp is not to bad on the weekday but it is 3 hours away and showshoe is 4 plus for me. I went to snowshoe when it was at least knee deep and it was not to tracked out at the end of the day and well worth the drive. For what you can get around here the local places are ok if you like park and freestyle boarding, if you are looking to freeride snowshoe kind of or head out west. I have the most fun when I ride in groups around here as the runs are so short.
Snowshoe is your best bet pretty much south of New York. Seven Springs has a nice park. As far as pow days are concerned they are few and far between. Save your sick days for the few we get around here each year.
Snowshoe is where it's at man.. It's a couple of dif ways to get there from the DC area.. The directions they have posted on the website cuts off a significant amount of time vs using the iPhone GPS or mapquest....
Web cam is looking nice! Hopefully they will open a little earlier . Just bought the mountain of youth pass this week. Pretty good deal at $279.
if anyone is up there, u can spot me with the beard ski and blue pants.
