Is that 45 to a hour drive in clear roads? Have you ever stayed in those yurts?

Yeah clear roads. Ive never had too much trouble driving over there with my fwd car. You won't have any problems with a 4x4 unless you get in a really bad storm.

I've never stayed in the yurts because I have friends an family in houghton. But I wouldn't be opposed to it if. We stayed in a ski in back country yurt when we went to ride in the porkies a couple years ago and it was a blast.

Cool guys I appreciate the info. Is there any type of grocery store or something past Houghton to pick up some food and beer?

I made it up there last season for the first time. There's no place like it, the vibe there is like none other that I've ever experienced. If you get a yurt you get breakfast and dinner(I think). My girlfriend and I stayed in a cabin and they fed us both meals. Bring some snack type stuff, but nothing else should be needed except for beer. We were there during the week and never waited for a lift line even with only 1 lift running. Tons of fresh lines to be had even a couple days after the storm. Ditching my western trip to just explore bohemia this year...it's a 7-8 hour drive for me to get there, but well worth the seat time.

One other thing would be to bring an old board or at the least expect to hit some rock and wood. P-tex would be a good thing to have on hand. When is MLK weekend? Early in the season there is going to be plenty of crap to chew your base. The recent storms are definitely helping up there though and hopefully that trend will continue.

Lvs4pow thanks for the info. MLK weekend is Jan 17 to 21. Do you recall how much it was for a cabin? The website said something about quad occupancy pricing so I wasn't sure, guess I should call them. I'll pick up some ptex before we go. My Ride is pretty beat up from hitting a lot of rocks over the years so I'm not too worried about it. Got one guy going with me for sure and 2 more who will not commit so I'm not sure if we are going to stay there or in a nearby hotel, trying to keep costs down.

Bohemia website says they have had over 3 feet of snow in the past week, should be good conditions by mid January!

Sorry I'm so slow to reply, not on here much. Yeah the price listed is what you will pay. For super cheap lodging get in the hostile, you will meet a bunch of people and it's like 20$ a night. They've had 5' in the last week! One helluva start to their season up there. My girlfriend and I picked up the cheap season passes and I'm super stoked to get back up there.

Yeah checked the online availability and they had 2 of the slope side cabins for $156/night and they had the hostile for $25/night. We haven't decided to do the hostile or stay in Houghton and drive in. Have you done the hostel thing? Looks awesome, they have been getting dumped on the last couple of weeks. When are you heading up?
