Granite Peak Meet Jan 23-26!! ??

Lets start a Midwest Meet and not just have the East/West coast guys have all the fun. This is the Midwests best resort and it always has great park, glades and tons of runs for everyone at all levels.

I will be taking my kids and a couple of their friends to Granite Peak the weekend of Jan 23-26th. This is our annual long weekend riding and this will be 3 years running.

If anyone wants to join us that would be awesome!!! This is for everyone, all abilities, families, single riders, anyone. If you want to just meet up for a few runs, cool. Want to hang all day, cool. Ride with your family/friends and just say hi, that works too.

Last year we met up with Derp, Hurricane and his buddy. We had fun and it would be great to meet up with other fellow members. Come for the day or the whole weekend or just a few hours. It would be great to take some laps with some forum members.

Here is one of my favorite pics from 2yrs ago. My oldest son, taco'd over a box :eusa_clap:

Capt Kirk, free is relative... GP is great!

Haven't seen you this year at AV but my riding has been sparatic and I've been working with my daughter a lot so mostly on Valley Flyier. Look for me Staturday, we have a small group that is gonna brave the Chi-Town crowds!!!!

Deacon that is great I'll send you my # on FB. Just text me to let me know when you get there and what not and we'll all meet up.

It all depends on when you go...

Friday night from 4pm-9pm you can get together with 3 other people and all 4 can ride for $40 bucks. That's only $10 for a lift ticket for 5 hours. If you show up solo or only a couple of people there are usually people hanging out by the ticket window to help you put a group of 4 together. Unless you are riding for free (like several of us do) there is nowhere in WI that offers a cheaper lift ticket...especially on a Friday night.

Saturday nights from 4pm-9pm is only $18 for a lift ticket. Another really good deal.

Quick update -

Hill is 100% open. Glades have a ton of snow in them and there are paths going just about everywhere.

Nice amount of snow with another 4-7" dropping on us tonight.

Still making our own snow in the East to widen runs.

Huge rollers in the West and East. Those are crazy fun.

Big terrain parks on Sugar Maple and Aspen. Really have some creative setups being put together and the jump line is set up nicely. Beginner park (Tyro) is also set up nicely, but gets hit hard during the day and ruts up pretty fast by the evening.

If you want to ride park you won't be disappointed. If you want to ride glades there are a TON of them available. If you just want to ride and do your own thing all 74 runs are at your disposal.

If your plan is 1st chair last chair I suggest riding Comet for the first few hours until it gets packed with park rats. Then head over to the West side for no lift lines and good riding. Dasher lift closes at 4 which is your cue to head over to the far East lift, Cupid. Plenty to do there for the last few hours of the night and super quiet there.

I plan on riding Friday after the day job, all of Saturday, and probably a few hours on Sunday.

Off the record, but I recommend bringing your own food & drink. Chalet prices crazy high. There is a Subway, Ihop, and Burger King less than a mile from the hill as well as a couple gas stations.

No alcoholic beverages on the chair lifts...unless you hip flask it like I do :)
