Marquette Mtn goes what about 600 vertical feet?
I have been trying to get up in to the UP for some snowboarding the last few years but it's soooo far away and the weather is so hit-or-miss that I haven't been able to pull it off.

Yeah 600ft. It's a great place to ride really, especially during their super park. I prefer riding up here because it's almost NEVER crowded. Good terrain parks at Marquette, Mt Bohemia is about 2hrs away and 100% all natural backcountry, I'm trying to get a trip going up there one weekend

Stay in touch I have been specifically interested in Bohemia for the last 3 or 4 years. Dying to get up to that mountain I might just have to suck it up this year and go for it if I can get away with it in addition to planned trip out west in Feb..

If the weather is decent over MLK weekend that might be my best shot I'll see what I can do and leave the rest up to mother nature.

So far, David Z has put a payment down. He put $50... You guys only need to add $30. David just wanted to give me $20 extra because he loves me like that. Rather than creating a new thread or editing a post that's buried in these pages, I will post a new comment with all current payments as they come in. Recap: David Z - $50 |

I'll pass over some cash when I get paid.
So I wandered over to Hawk Island to see the future snowpark. From the back end I wasn't very impressed but rounding around to the front I saw that the landing area was in low lying ground and added some height overall. I've uploaded a couple pics as attachments, hopefully you guys can see them. Here's a youtube vid I took while there too. I'd embed it all pretty but I don't know how. Here's the link; Hawk Mountain - YouTube I took away a couple things here. 1. There is going to be at least some lighting. I see the one pole out there. Who knows if there will be more. 2. It seems to be about as high as the tow rope that services Mt Brighton's (MI) green run and terrain park. Not the beginner bunny hill but the green run on the actual hill.
