How you guys doing? Havn't been around in a while.
Up here in Houghton were expecting our first significant snowfall so it sparked my interest to check up on the forum. Being a student at MTU, I get a season pass to Mt.Ripley which I hope to take advantage of. Its gonna be tough trying to fit a trip to the hill in between school and off-season lifting for football. A lot of guys keep telling me I have to ride Bohemia so I'm gonna try to make a trip up there as I'm only 45 minutes south, but finding a ride is gonna be the tough part.

Thatd be awesome. You'd have to drive through campus anyways.
I'm geeked for this snow. Their calling for 4-7 inches of wet snow. The only downside is I have practice in it tomorrow .

Have you guys ever been to Searchmont in Ontario? Apparently it's just past the Soo and has 700 vert.
My boss was recommending it yesterday.

heard of it, never been.
It gets cold as a witch's tit up there, that would be my biggest concern. Plus border crossing can be a pain in the assAt 6+ hours a way you can get 700 vert at Seven Springs PA or 700-1000+ at a few places in New York. 7 hours and you can get 1500 feet at Snowshoe, WV.

I didn't think about the cold though, that's a good point. My girl is Canadian so I'm used to having to jump the border with/for her. Basically we just need to hop on a plane and head West it sounds like. hah

Yeah, the downside is that I'm farther away from all the hills around you guys. On the plus side we're closer to Cab, Crystal and Boyne.

Lansing is what about an hour from Mt. Holly? That's not too bad of a drive.
