yea dude we'll have sum pics. haha yea i remember that sesh. damn my knees are practically straight there. i think i've learned to bend a little more since lol. although i think ive taken my hardest hits on that Timberline at PK. for some reason, that run always seems to be hard as concrete. whens ripley opening up?!

i'm dying here.

Two seasons ago I was riding on Nov. 17 at Alpine Valley. Last year, Holly was open on Nov. 27. This year there is nothing but shit weather in the forecast, and I have looked as far north as Marquette.

How long a string of sub-30 degree days do we need before places start opening? This is my first time at the beginning of the season. I was really hoping for black Friday shred.

Don't get your hopes up... Compare to last year (approximately Mt. Holly/Flint):

History : Weather Underground

In retrospect I find it hard to believe they were able to open last year on 11/27. Those daytime highs are still awfully high in the 40s, but there were only 6 days prior to Black Friday with above-freezing overnight lows, and most of those were still in the 30s. This year we have overnight lows in the 40s and 50s. The ground isn't even close to freezing.

hey guys, new to the forum from the east side, not a whole lot of riding to do around here besides holly, knob, and alpine other than that im lookin at a pretty healthy drive to find a good hill so i do alot of jibbing where i can and when the conditions are right. anyone else from the easy side ? macomb county here. probably be riding more holly than anything this season considering knobs pretty cramped and alpine is always bombed out and is just an unfriendly environment from what i saw last season.

PK is my go-to on weeknights, because it's closest to my work. I ride Mt. Holly occasionally but I had a completely different experience than you at Alpine last season, their parks were always better maintained and less-crowded with way better features and an overall better vibe than Mt. Holly in my opinion. PK is the worst of the three, but it's convenient so I end up there a lot.

I will probably end up splitting time between equally between those places, with occasional road trips up north to Crystal, Nubs and hopefully Bohemia and just maybe to Pennsylvania or NY.

ah funny. You said the same thing I just said on your blog about this.

*glances behind me at board and sighs*

hey, you know what though? Truth be told this may suck for us individually it's actually a blessing for us at Hawk Island. We still have a lot of stuff we're petitioning the county for and we need it done before the ground freezes.

Hey, welcome.

I'm in Lansing but I do Holly when I don't have the cash for a hotel up north in Cadillac. I was there a few times last season. Dave and the crew here let me know that going much farther east than Holly wasn't worth it for me.
