Alright everyone since Summer is over, fall has just begun and we've already had our first rail jam of the year, it's time to start a new thread for the 10/11 winter.

Last year we had the "Southeast" michigan thread, but I think we should do all of Michigan. Sure, most of population lives in S/E michigan but we all ride the same resorts in the LP and even the UP if we get a chance, so we should have one thread to bring everyone together.

Cheers everyone we're probably only like 70 days from open resorts!

Oh man!!!! This is brutal! Wind has dropped below 25+ mph, but the temp b4 windchill is -2° right now. My eyelids were sticking together when I blinked and the moisture froze my eyelashes together!!

...and talk about velcro snow??? The groomers and chop is fast enough, but anyplace that has patches of windblown on it, (...which is everywhere today. ) that shit grabs your board like dropping from 5th gear to 3rd on the freeway!!!! Have to be careful where you transition your turns cuz if you flatten the board on a patch of that stuff going from one edge to the other? Whew! Sketch!!!!

was hoping to ride tomorrow morning but i've been slammed at work and if temps are -10 when I wake up, I guess I'm just heading in to the office. Might as well catch up on shit while it's brutal cold out, save those days off for when it's a little milder.

Saturday should be about 30F, good day to ride. Might have to take a "sick" day on Monday if the forecast is right, might get a good snowfall Sunday night...

Well, I hope you guys do get out to do some riding!

I gotta say, the weather here Is sucking all the fun out of this trip.

The temp before windchill is -19˚ this morning. Windchill is -35˚ The air is soooo freaking dry that there isn't even frost on my windshield. With temps like that? I'm not even going to bother with making first chair this morning.

Tue & wed weren't too terribly bad. And and of course wed. night, the night of the video, that was really good but it was only snowing for about the last two hours. But yesterday? That was crazy cold all day! Yetsreday morning, It was myself and two other skiers on the hill for the first two hours! That's it!!!! Nobody else braving that kinda cold.

Snow was really slow in spots with the wind blowing like a banshee! Hard to ride in conditions like that! (…I did log a top speed of 46.5 mph on Amy's run, So,... :dunno: :D)

TWC is calling for a chance at a couple 2-3 inches later when the temps warm to a balmy 13˚, so I can only cross my fingers & pray! :D

Oh,.. MUCH better this morning! Temps r still cold, down around zero or plus 2 or 3°. But wind is now more of a light breeze. Windblown velcro snow is gone n groomers r fast. Way more fun today!! Yesterday was more about survival than enjoying my time on the board.

Gonna go see what the interconnect has to offer after I warm up my toes!! :D

Oh man it's going to be 33 today... really wanted to get a day in and was gonna meet Mike & some guys at Brighton this morning. But yesterday I woke up with whatever stomach bug has been going around. Barely able to get my kid out the door to day care, came home, and curled up in bed where I slept until about 130. Literally did not move from bed until 6pm, when I had the urgent need to vomit. Twice. Then I layed on the couch until 11pm.

I feel fine now, and probably could ride, but need to get some shit done around the house.

It's fucking MARCH already, dudes. You can SEE the end of the season from here.

Going to try and plan some group getaway for the last weekend in March maybe.

Still trying to figure out if/when I could do Boho but it's looking less and less likely.

Likely only to ride for a couple hours in the AM. We'll have to go pick up the kid s before heading home so I know the wife will not want to stick around Sunday.

Gahhh. yeah. this is the time of year when the wife's patients starts wearing thing. Unfortunate, because it is also the time of year when you need to be able to seize whatever remains... Next few weeks probably as much locally as I can get away with. I was really hoping to swing 2 wknds in March but doesn't look like that's gonna happen...

I am looking at up north -- somewhere, which could be anywhere from Crystal to Boyne to Bohemia or down in to the E-ville area in New York -- over the weekend of 3/22. I want to do a meet-up but I also want to leave my options open in the event that I can last-minute to Boho. :dunno:

Last weekend in March we have some family thing on Sunday. Hoping that Pine Knob may still be open, if not, I will probably be at Hawk. Following weekend is Zoey's birthday party, so that will keep me at Hawk, which is sure to be the only place south of Cadillac still open.

If the rest of the season holds cooler-than-average temps, then I think last year's closing dates would be a good model. I would expect Crystal and Boyne Mountain to remain open at least on weekends only, well in to April. I am also banking on Boho remaining open. So, April 12 is my snowball's chance in hell last ditch effort to maybe get there this year...

Man!!! I just love that soft fresh corduroy after the evening re-grooming. :yahoo: Fast as fuck,.. And board just bites and holds a line so sweet! :eusa_clap:

Well after my mishap this after noon the pro shop was able to fix it enough to ride. Got in a couple more hours before dinner. Overall had a great weekend up at boyne and can't wait to come up here again. Sorry chomp that I didn't get to highlands and that I got em mixed up, first time up here. I'm down for a meet up, tell me where and when.

Now to contact flow and get my right replacement strap.

It was funny as hell. We were going up n down two different lifts on different mountains looking for ea other.

I'm sure the guy at Highlands dressed in same color combo as you probably thinks I'm weird as fuck! :giggle::eusa_clap: Well, at least I didn't mow down anyones nephew like I did when I met DaveZ! Lol!

Man! Do I make a helluva first impression, or what? :D ;)

Dunno Dave. You reallythink Bohemia is worth the trouble for warmed, packed, un-groomed snow? Seems the POW on their terrain is the entire attraction there. Be a shame to waste a long assed drive for sub par conditions. There Might still be a good dump or two for them between now and April! I have an idea that after April, proly not so much. :dunno: At least probably not a big POW event anyway. Maybe some wet cement storms. :dunno:

Yeah I mean, probably not. If it's spring corn then maybe tolerable, or, at least would be an adventure.

One alternative at this point would be to try and plan a group meetup at Boyne Mountain in April, instead of March. Given the snow they have received thus far, it seems a near-certainty that they will be open well in to April again as they were last year.

I still don't think I will hit 50 days, but it might be down to the wire I am at 32 right now...

I will have to be very creative with my flex time at work...

The problem is once PK/Brighton shut down, the only place I can easily ride midweek is Hawk Island which doesn't open until 2pm, and I don't like having to drive home on I-96/I-696 in rush hour. With the other places, I usually go in the early morning and work a partial day in the afternoon.
