You're worrying way too much now lol.

The 157 Magic is listed as weight range being 120+ so you are square on the sizing. The 152 starts at 110lbs so it will flex slightly softer for you. I was 175 when I demoed the 157. It rode fine. It's a great board bro, don't overthink it. You can always sell it later on. It's a popular board.

Or just give it to me. I'll shred the hell out of that beast.

I just bought (a month or so ago) the 2010 version Banana Magic in 157.

My current board is a Ride all mountain 155 and it seemed to do fine.

The Banana Magic's are only offered in 152 or 157 (or 158 wide).

Reading through the 2011 Never Summer review thread, Vman was suggesting the 151 or 153 to people of similar size to me. I don't ride the park much at all, so I don't need a super short board, but I also don't want to have trouble steering this thing down the hill if its a beast.

What size are you guys and what size board do you ride?

How far are you from Mt Holly? I'd let you use my 158 NS EVO for a couple passes down the hill.

I'm still waiting to get out there with you for the same reason. Oh, and I also want to meet you too

I still think NS makes a better board then Lib Tech.

Mt. Holly is what I guess I would consider my "local" hill. It actually takes me about an hour to get there... but its the closest to me. I live on Grosse Ile so I just hop on 75.

I'd definitely like to try out your EVO and I'll let you ride the Banana if you want to.

Leo - I think I am over-analyzing. I'm not discounting our previous conversations about board sizes... its just that whenever I see these other threads where people are suggesting smaller sizes for smaller riders, it makes me start to wonder if I would have been better off with a smaller board.

I don't think it will matter too much anyway. I've been riding an 8 year old board and 13 year old bindings for damn near forever... and I really didn't even care. Just being out riding on whatever equipment is enough for me (maybe not... since I'm dropping hella-loot on all this new gear).

Even though I haven't ridden an NS board yet, I don't doubt that from what I hear. However, I don't think it will be true against all Lib Techs. The T.Rice and especially the Magic are great, great boards. You should ride the Magic while he tries your NS.

I demoed over 30 boards last season and the Magic stood out above all. The second was a Burton Custom Flying V. The Custom Fly V is a very hit or miss board though. Was a hit to me.

I took all of my will power not to splurge for a Magic.

It's just my 2 cents. I'm just not a fan of paying another $100+ for a board and not have a steel edge on the tip and tail.

Banana Majic $700
Burton custom Fly V $530
NS EVO $ 490(I payed 360)

I go 6' tall, anywhere between 205-215 pounds but trying to trim that down a little bit, size 11 boots. Preferred board size between 160-163, i can go wide or regular width board.

no that was a Bataleon Goliath. Got one from Triple8Sol here on the forum it's 2009 but brand new/never used before, for about $280. At that price I just couldn't turn it down and the idea of dropping $540 on a new NS stick started to sound like a not-so-good idea. I may try to scoop up an SL or Legacy towards the end of the season or wait until next year when they put the Carbonium topsheet on all their boards, but the more I read the Heritage is just going to be too much board for most of the riding i do here in Michigan.
