Big Powderhorn is opening this weekend AFAIK. They've got some snow so far this year but not sure what the conditions are like. How far is that from Brule - if for no reason but to compare, Brule is already open with 36" base and about 50% of terrain.

There is going to be a christmas tree lighting ceremony at Crystal this weekend complete with some sort of "parade".

Let's go caroling. Drunk.

Good news looks like Crystal got less than 1/4" of rain today and it is tapering off. Only a trace amount of precipitation in the forecast for tomorrow. Looks like they will be able to blow snow overnight Thursday into Friday morning.

Expect rumbly corduroy, hardpacked to icy midwest groomers with hopefully a small amount of "fresh" man-made snow.

Crystal Mountain forecast just got better! Rain this morning, but snow from 4pm on.

looks like PK's base has taken a pretty good hit (by looking at their webcam). patches of dirt poking through the main run underneath the lodge chairlift. "the wall" is completely brown again. on a better note...just realized holly is doing a college special this season. starting in january, $27 lift tickets on wednesday nights. glad i saved my college id! tho still not as good of a bargain as the ski free/shell gas deal.

Yeah I bet everyone down here took a beating the last few days it's been way too warm to blow and also too warm to do any real grooming o maintain the base. Once it cools off they'll be able to push it around again. The wall was pretty brown on Sunday, although there were a few people "riding" it, it was basically just dirt/grass with a dusting of snow over it.

Shell deal starts up again on January 4

On a better note... I saw a groomer on Crystal's webcam.
