Wow, thanks for the link. Very cool and I've never heard of those before... My family has a cabin at the top of the Upper Peninsula and we pass Marquette on the way up. These guys need to build a new mold for a snowboard shape that can lock together like a split board does. Might not be the best based on their videos, as they seem to climb a little, then ski a little, then climb a little, and then ski a little, etc., but for people who have access to longer runs, they could climb to the top, clip the 2 "skis" together and then snowboard down. |

Here is a link talking about the "Huron Mountain Club": The Huron Mountains | MOON TRAVEL GUIDES
Guy who started International Harvester and Miller Brewing both original members, and you'll also see the Henry Ford comment. EDIT: added more history about Ford's involvement: http://www.michiganhighways.org/inde...huronmtns.html One of the tallest (if not the tallest) peaks at almost 2k feet - not too shabby for flat ass michigan. BTW turbo thanks for jogging my memory about MI Backcountry Skis I read about them like a year ago and thought, "Damn, that's a really neat idea and way affordable compared to splitboards". I'm gonna see if I can borrow a pair from them to review.

Hahahaha teles.
Yeah, they are a free-heel setup which is more like xc, tele, or snowshoes. The advantage is you can just use regular hiking boots if you have softboot xc bindings.

anyone interested in checking out Misfit Lab in the next couple of weeks? i'd like to go check it out. i'm also looking at heading to Cannonsburg in the near future. their park setup looks legit, or at least it will when we get some damn snow. i gotta give em credit tho-they were open with tow rope only earlier this week-$12 tow ticket. too bad the places around here wouldn't make the same effort instead of charging full price for a lift ticket when i'm gunna spend 90% of my time in the park. also gotta say that cannonsburgs website is really impressive. lots of info on their park setups and features. i mean c'mon, holly and pk haven't updated their website since 1990. still waiting for holly or pk to decide if they're gunna open up today.

PK looks like they may open this afternoon. It sounds like they had 2 parks open on Tuesday whereas HOlly only had ~4 features which probably won't be there today if they open. Looks like PK is a better bet for today.
