Alright everyone since Summer is over, fall has just begun and we've already had our first rail jam of the year, it's time to start a new thread for the 10/11 winter.

Last year we had the "Southeast" michigan thread, but I think we should do all of Michigan. Sure, most of population lives in S/E michigan but we all ride the same resorts in the LP and even the UP if we get a chance, so we should have one thread to bring everyone together.

Cheers everyone we're probably only like 70 days from open resorts!

Oh Man!!! Cab is such a ridiculously crowded shit show tho with only a run or two open!!!

Forecast down here looks good for night time temps low enough to blow snow, but daytime temps are gonna be 40's or better! :eyetwitch::facepalm1:
We're gonna have a base of SOLID ice & snowcrete by the time the season actually gets started!!! :gaah:

If you go Thursday, let me know and we can ride together.

I am going somewhere for a day trip Saturday, I'll drive to Petoskey area if I have to. Let me know on that as well if you're not staying overnight. We can split gas if my girlfriend ends up not wanting to go with me. I will be leaving super early Saturday morning and come back Saturday night.

Hell, if Lori goes with you this weekend, let me know and maybe I can get my gal to tag along with the promise of another female rider being there. This will be her first time out......

Trapper and I met up with the kids yesterday at Caberfae. They had the bunny hill, Shelter, Smiling Irishman, Upper and Lower Canyon open.

The bunny hill didn't have the tow going so it was a hike-up situation. We started the kids there and the lack of tow motivated us to get them on the Shelter run. I'm glad too because we finally got my little one on the chairlift and going down legit green runs.

Cab was fun, spring time conditions but man it was rough. It was a bit like a warzone; craters, roped off areas, debris, and bodies everywhere. I saw more than a few guys careen off of the snow and into grass, rocks, and the woods. One guy skiing into rocks and biting it looked especially bad.

I'm glad we got out, it wasn't a day to pad stats, but it was soft snow and not crowded.

I thought it was an awesome day. Didn't think I'd have as much fun as I did when I first got there. Coverage sucked but I'm impressed considering the weather they've had to deal with. We got there a little after 10am and by 3pm my daughter was asking me if we could stay a few more hours, lol.

Yep. I don't think I'm going to be sacrificing much longer with Autumn though. She made huge strides on the snowboard this weekend and even handled the chairlift alone with her skis.

Boyne update

Boyne opened 1 day after Thansgiving, saturday.

They were open last weekend with 2 runs, Victor and Hemlock, with 1 chair servicing. Long lines, Hemlock is a 2 seater.
Conditions were good Saturday AM, tracked out by 12:00.
Sunday was piles. Sketch.

My sources tell me Highlands laid off all their people until the week before Christmas.

We wait...

Well hopefully you'll be able to salvage a season this year. We're all getting pretty antsy (I'm lucky to have gotten out twice but it was sub par), but in reality it's still early December. By Christmas, hopefully, we'll have better coverage and more places open.

Chomps you will enjoy Colorado to no end, pow or not. Trust me.
