had a great time at PK last night...even though i was riding in the fuckin rain! good news is i didn't have to take a shower when i got home lol. snow was really slushy which i didn't really mind-its better than ice anyway. wow i think PK has finally listened to our complaints after all this time. i was thoroughly impressed with their park setups!! the best i've seen in the 2-3 years i've been going to PK. they had 3 boxes setup in pinery which were spaced far enough apart to serve purpose. a fun box, a 15' box and a c-box. timberline was the most impressive. dave you might've even been impressed lol. they had 3 distinct lines setup with 4 features in each line. a nice variation of shotgun rails, flat down rails, down boxes, flat boxes, rainbow rail, barn box, bonks and the biggest quarter pipe i've ever seen at PK! and yes there were 4 guys that went through the entire park with rakes at about 8 pm. i even gave them points on creativity. they had a 1' box set up in a bridged position between a couple of small mounds and a rail to bonk to box setup at the bottom. dave their rainbow rail was actually legit too. it was properly buried and rode really nice. as much as i hate to admit it...i gotta hand it to em this time.
have phun there today guys! now...a wknd full of X Games coverage for me

I woke up to an IM from Leo,.. looks like he had to cancell. I'm still heading out there after the rush hour numb nuts stop spinning out all over the freeway! ETA, 10 or 11 am. if anyone else interested.
...boardaddicktd, Yup!!! Soft is definitely better than icy!!!! If I get lucky & the slopes are empty for a weekday, I might even attempt to break my ass & try my luck at a couple small airs!! (...Small airs that is!!)

Wish that I had the day off to ride. I'm going up to Caberfae on Sunday though. I expected to be in double digits before February. What a fail season.

Monday I'm heading north. Added two days to try out Crystal Mnt. before I head over to Boyne! Hope it's good up there! Don't see any real snow for the region in the 10 day!

Crystal is getting 5 inches of freshie in the next 36 hours. I'd love to get up there now that they're 100% open but my Cab tix were purchased forever ago.

At one point I decided to try taking a few runs over the rollers that the big jumps are built on. Not the jumps themselves but the mounds for the landing transitions. Wanted to see if I could get the feel for setting up the lines, going over and down. Wasn't looking to try and get air, just manage to hit them with enough speed to maybe get a little ("little" mind you,) negative G's. Sort of get a feel for it. Well,.. I did get airborne, once!! Unfortunately,.. I did NOT stick the landing!! Left a fair sized (chomps shaped) crater at the bottom of the transition! (...I think that would be referred to as "Positive" G's) ![]() Loved how empty the runs were most of the day though! Non stop down & back up, down & back up!!! No dodging Toddlers either!!!

don't stiffen up when you're in the air - even if you're only airborne for a few milliseconds stay loose and centered and let your knees bend to absorb the landing. that's what's meant by 'stomping' it
just use those legs like shock absorbers and absorb that impact.
