I have some $12 dollar passes to caberfae peaks if anyone is interested. The passed a bunch out to me at the Warren Miller Film Fest this year and I don't think I will be making it up there so someone might as well get some use out of them.

haha, yeah we considered that.
Boyne Highlands is higher, has the longer run and it's a place we'd not seen yet so... I really need to get to Crystal with you and I think it's going to have to be with YOU so that I can see it through your eyes. I look at the stats and Cab kills it with elevation, long runs and skiable terrain so I need to go with you so I can understand why it's worth it to spend more more and drive past Cab to ride Crystal.

I've only been to Boyne Highlands once, but I've been to Nubs Nob a handful of times. I've always stayed at the Best Western in Harbor Springs, right next to the small airport. It's just a couple minutes' drive to either the Highlands or Nubs. Price is generally around $90-95/night on weekends. A three-night stay gets a discount, around $75-80/night. Can't comment on night life in the area.
I'll be at Mt. Holly this Saturday day session with my son.

I was wondering if anyone knows if there is someplace here in S.E. MI. where one can rent or "Demo" ride new (ish) boards?
Got some bad info from Boyne Mnt. Sports about what was & wasn't available for rental up @ Boyne! They gave me the impression that just about anything that they sell, was available to rent for a demo. Turns out that ONLY applies to ski's! With snowboards, your stuck with whatever they have in the rental dept! I Really wanted try the "Grip Tech" on a board. Any info appreciated!

Not sure if they do it with boards/skis (especially this late in the season) but you could check with REI.
Alternatively, you could abuse their unlimited return policy, buy one, ride it for the weekend, and return it no questions asked ![]() I rode two Arbors up at Boyne earlier this week (Blacklist 157, Element 161). First time on an Arbor board, both of them were solid boards and grip tech is legit.
