Snow conditions weren't great so I don't think it was as crowded or crazy as it usually gets. Lots of drunkeness, lots of nice lookin' babes,.. a few "Douche Bags" of course, but all in all, it was fun. (I called in sick that friday to get a 3 day weekend out of it) One thing to watch for,.. LOTS of shredded empty beer cans on the runs. They will gouge your board & you sure as shit don't want to fall on one!

This weekend, if the storm brings some accumulation & don't "F" things up with freezing rain,.. It will probably just be crowded!
Ah gotcha. That weekend sounds awesome haha I figured it would get busy, I'm hoping to get up and hit the mountain as early as I can Saturday.

I haven't quite firmed up my decision on where I'll b, & when this weekend! I want to watch the radar before I decide if I'm going to start with Highlands & maybe Nubs for Fri & part or all of Sat. Or if I'll start @ Boyne Mnt. Fri. & part of Saturday before shooting over to Highlands & Nubs for Sat. night, sun. morning. I'm pretty sure I'll be at Boyne Mnt. for at least some part Saturday, so If you see an old fart in a red 'n' black jacket, tan & red burton pants, helmet /w Oakley Goggles, riding what looks like a wooden plank,.. (I ride an Arbor Board) Say hello!!!

Expect crowds and long lift lines especially for main base-area lifts.
Dave, r You & Leo heading back to Crystal this weekend? Depending on the snow amounts & when you plan to bail on Sun., maybe I'll head that way for Sunday morning. Might shorten my drive home a bit sunday afternoon. If you're planning on booking real early Sun., let me know as I probably won't bother in that case!

I'm going up Friday, coming home Monday morning. Friday will probably be at Shanty/Schuss. I haven't been there in at least 5-6 years and would like to check it out, plus we will be lodging near Crystal and it is just too far of a drive to go to Nub's (4.5hrs from us) and then drive another 2+ hours down to Crystal/Traverse City area.

You should totally hit up Shanty creek . It's been pretty nice. I'm probably going to be there most of the day Friday too,
I wear black except for my jacket and goggles. You're most likely to find me on the purple lift, being shredded by the park

just bought lift tickets for Shanty on Friday. They're $20.99 on Liftopia right now...

In hindsight, I think I always used to ski/ride Schuss. Not sure I've ever been on the Shanty side of things.

I should take the day off and get up there.

You should.

We're probably leaving here around 7 puts us up there before lunchtime. the $20.99 lift ticket is only good until 430 or whatever, but that still gives us a good 5 hours of riding on Friday if we make good time on the road.
