I'm also eyeballing new boots which I desperately need since mine are blown out and new bindings. I am leaning towards the Burton Genesis, i spent a good amount of time on those at Test Fest and liked them but a part of me feels dirty buying the B LOL.

Unofficial word on the street is Birmingham Rail Jam on Saturday 9/22. The O-Park is no longer around to sponsor it but there will still be a jam going on, just maybe not as big as it has been the past few years.

I don't think I will ever let myself buy Nike boots.

The Flow bindings were promising but I think there were some issues that needed to be ironed out. Perhaps just pre-production problems which I guess are pretty common in the demo gear but it seems to be a pretty common refrain from people who've tried the new ones (like the NX2 etc.) that their ease-of-use is nowhere near what the old Flow bindings was, and without the ease-of-use they take just as long (or longer) to get in to compared to traditional bindings.

Probably nothing, talk to a lot of people who say they make great boots and they probably do, they've got 40 years of making shoes and a bankroll that's probably second to no one in the industry. Just personal. I think I swore them off back in like '97, of course that was for running shoes since the "air" technology, aside from looking "cool" is basically (completely totally utterly) bullshit. There's the whole sweatshop angle, but I don't put much stock in that for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that pretty much ALL manufacturers use foreign labor so it wouldn't be fair to single Nike out as an offendor when everyone else is doing it to some degree as well, and probably some other anti-establishment reasons that if I really examined them, would fall under the same scrutiny.

So, basically it goes back to high school when I swore them off for running shoes I've never had any desire to own another pair of Nikes for anything. And the way I see it now is there's a dozen other companies making good boots so odds are that at least one of those dozens or hundreds of other boots will be just as adequate for my needs.

I could use some new boots, and I'd like a new stick. And if I do those, I'll want new bindings. I guess I'm shopping for all new gear for this season that I can't afford xD I want something with a rocker camber. On the plus side, my EDL should be coming in the mail one of these days, and I'm planning a trip down to Petoskey to see some friends and hit up some shops around there. Been seriously eyeing that Forum Recon on Dogfunk for $179...

I think at this point I just would like some new bindings. Something to match the SL stiffness like Cartels or K2 Formulas. I really want to try something with a canted footbed.

If I get one of those bindings it will be last year's model.

A second jacket would be nice too but that'd just be a luxury buy. Same with new goggles.
