That's 5.5 hours from me, not so bad for a weekend.
Anyone been there? Is it worth the drive?

never been to Searchmont but I have heard good things as long as you don't mind the bitter, bitter, Canadian cold. I think it also can be quite windy there.

The vert looks nice but there didn't seem to be a lot of runs on the trail map.
Wifey needs her green card before we venture out of the country though. We're planning a trip in December (assuming we have her card) to Banff/Lake Louise. Her old stomping grounds.

I am laying the groundwork for a UP trip and a brief out West trip this year... Wife is going to FL with Zoey & grandma in January, I told her "that's too early for when I would want to go out west so I will probably just hang around here and maybe do like a 4-day weekend out west in March/April." She seemed cool with it, so I'm going to try and coordinate with Mike and make a quick jaunt to Boho and a few other places up there. Edit: you said "green card" and I totally thought you meant something else LOL

See Leo, that is how you work the wife. I'm quite sure Boho is out of my skillset but it'd be cool to notch my belt with a place up there some time. I'm looking forward to checking out some new places this season. *edit* Green Card as in the Medical Mary Jane? LOL Nope, plain old green card to keep the Canuck employed down here.

Yeah I couldn't figure out why she needed that card to go to Canada LOL but then I put 2+2 together and realized you meant the other type of green card.

haha, Leo's a good guy but he needs to learn how to work the wife better.
Marquette Mountain, Pine Mountain and Norway Mountain are the possibilities. I have family right there in Escanaba so I might be able to work out a dual purpose trip.

Escanaba's another few hours West, no?
I seem to recall being there for a wedding about 12 years ago. We were camping at the bride's parents' house. We were asked not to return the second night, because the first night we got stupid drunk and tried riding their horses at 3am. Mother of the bride running, screaming, through the field in a nightgown at 3am while my friend is literally getting bucked off a horse the night before the wedding... Priceless.

Esky is 45 mins south of Marquette and maybe an hour east of Norway and Pine Mountain, so if I'm up there for some family crap I'm bringing the board.
That visual you painted seems like a movie. haha

You should hear my friend Chris (same guy on the horse) tell the story about the time they got drunk in TC and stole a paddle boat and encountered a sea monster in the bay at 5am and arrived on shore miles from where they should be.
