Definitely riding this week.

Pretty sure MTH will open tomorrow. PK says maybe today, but I guess they didn't make enough snow yesterday so they're still considering it.

I'm hoping to ride a few hours after work tomorrow if MTH or PK is open.

Also looking to ride this weekend. I had planned on driving up north but that was under the assumption that none of the local hills would be able to open yet. As it seems they will be open, I will probably stay down here what with the baby at home, I need to use my travel days wisely and opening weekend is probably not the best investment in that regard.

I don't know if anyone is interested in skiing yet (or at all!), but I couldn't resist because we got a great deal for skiing for FREE for Dec 14-16 weekend. If you want to drive to Treetops they said that it is snowing and they are also making snow now. Skiing is free Friday, Saturday, and Sunday if you stay there. The rooms are only $79 a night, you have to call them and ask for this rate. The total price for the 2 nights with 3 days of skiing and taxes and fees was $195.00. I think we spent about that much skiing at Mt. Holly and Pine Knob for just 1 day with no accomodations. Information for the free ski weekend is located here TreeTops Resort :: Free Ski Weekend
.
Treetops is a fun resort, but small. But it's fun, and their new management is committed to making it a better & more popular little resort.

That's a sick deal, I say go for it.

Mt Holly basically called it, they're opening tomorrow.
"With successful overnight efforts both Saturday night and Monday night, one more night should get us into the 2012/2013 season. We are targeting Wednesday, November 28th at 3pm as a possible opening date and time. That is...of course...barring unforseen natural disasters and subject to co-operation from mother nature overnight tonight. The number of open slopes and lifts will be posted by noon on Wednesday."
I might be able to make that trip tomorrow. *might*

Baby momma picks up my wee one at 6pm, then it's an hour 15 mins to holly from my front door. If they're open to 9, is it worth it to drive for about 90 minutes of riding...?

Seems like a lot of effort and expense. Me: only 30 minutes away and I have a season pass. If they open, I'll check it out. Thursday: cough cough... I don't feel so well...

Hate to say it Dave, but you're probably right about that. I could save a little coin stayin' local this weekend and use the money I save for an additional trip el' norte' later in Dec. (...especially since I have a feeling I will be getting violently ill Oh,.. right around the end of Dec. HEY,.. ins't that about the time they are having their Demo Day @ Highlands?????)

That cough doesn't sound so good. You know, I've heard that the very best thing for that is to get waxed,.. get some ice on it, and change your elevation repeatedly throughout the day!!!!!

I figure I could still go north this weekend but I'd have to sacrifice tomorrow in order to get away with that. It's probably the smarter move to go up and do a full day at Boyne or Cab but at this point in the season I want quality over quantity so I'm leaning towards riding tomorrow, and hopefully also Saturday morning.

Depends how bad you're jonesin for it also considering you're heading to Boyne this weekend...

I'm unsure if I'd go there at 330 and leave by 7 or if I'd go there at 630 and stay till 9...

We'll see. I can tell you that getting a certain something in the mail by then would definitely tip the scales.
