The heather lift will get you access to two park areas. The first was a narrow ride on flat pipe and one you had to hop on, the second had pipes and metal tubes. 5-6 features in all I think.

I am terribly concerned about where and/or how I am going to ride next weekend since I don't think I can get up north (volunteered to pick my parents up at the airport on Saturday aftenroon, assuming at the time that PK/MTH would be open and I could eek out a few hours in the AM)

Caberfae is 3.5 hours easily, Nub's is 4.5, Boyne Mountain is about 4. I don't care about going for the whole weekend but with 4hrs of driving each way it's nice to stay one night to relax. Otherwise makes for a LONG day driving up in the AM and home in the PM I've done it before but now with an 8mo old daughter at home I'm thinking I can't get away with that as often as I might've in the past.

I don't know about there, but here and South MI it's been raining and has warmed up a little. ![]() So perhaps if you waited until next weekend you'd be likely to have better/more snow anyway? I hope it works out for you, and I hope we all have a good winter this year.

Kid ended up doing fairly well for his age his first day on the board. We lasted until about 3:30.

I drive for a living & that's WAY too much for me in a day. Especially since I have a tendancy to "overdo" it riding. Maybe it's 'cuz I'm new to the sport and haven't yet done a lot of riding on good hills or snow, but when I go,.. I stay on the snow every second I can. I keep hitting the runs till I can't run NoMo!! A few short smoke breaks or to catch my breath is all. I even take my Camelbak so I don't have to stop to hydrate. After a day of riding I'm FAR to exhausted to drive four hours. In fact, I go so long 'n' hard that last year, after my vacation, I was still in pain a month after. (...probably not the best way to do things!) . I was hoping for more, better, and longer lived snow this year so I wouldn't feel so "Frantic" about spending time on the snowboard!
