Speaking of softgoods...

Here's my personal review for you Michigan guys.

So I got a couple pants, a couple jackets. They're all Oakley, I got good deals on them. I made it a point to match jacket and pant brands so that I could take advantage of the storm skirt because I inevitable slide down the hill on my ass and I hate getting snow up my jacket (and then down my pants).

Welp, snap in powder skirts don't work so well for that purpose. I was working on trying to spray last night and washed out a few times, one of which a ton of snow went right up the ol' jacket despite being snapped up.

So while I love my jackets and pants, I think a zip up storm skirt is a better choice *if* you're trying to keep snow out of your jacket from sliding down the hill. Maybe it works just fine for powder (as it's made for..) but for what I need it for it doesn't quite do the job.

Have you ever tried the pants/jackets that zip together? I have burton pants and jacket and if I zip them together and use the powder skirt over top of that it works good.

I haven't but I'm sure I will choose a zip up system the next time I get some gear. I hate getting snow up my back.

Yea I hate that to. I don't really have a problem with it anymore since I can zip my pants to my jacket. Not having a wet butt makes snowboarding much more enjoyable.

Good day at Highlands today. They've opened up more runs, I think they're up to 15 now. Basically Little John through Camelot is open.

I can tell they're going to put in a pipe this season but it won't be open for a while.

Most importantly, no rain so far.

Glad to hear that!!! I saw the forecast's for the area & thought you'd be heading up there for a weekend of shit like I did.

Glad somebody here's getting a few good turns in!! (...I hit PK Thurs eve., not great, but not F'ing awful either!)

Welp, it went downhill fast. By 3:30 I was tapped out and as I was leaving the rain came. Pretty decent rain too

Hopefully it doesn't stick around, tomorrow should be interesting.

Stop wearing that damn cotton Hawk Island shirt underneath and the snow up your butt won't bother you as much... oh, I mean back, sorry.
