Well, it hasn't stopped raining since 3:30, I don't recommend anyone making the trip anywhere up north because it doesn't look like its going to end through tomorrow night.

Sucks. Second weekend up here cut short by bad weather. I'll make the 15 minute drive to Highlands but not counting on staying long, if at all.

The part that kills me is that this would have been awesome snow had it been colder.

Well,.. you have to know, you certainly have my sympathies!
Hey, at least you got one full day of fairly decent riding, right?
Even had a bigger choice of runs to hit!

...Last weekend when I was there, sunday was the only day with "marginally" decent snow, and I cut riding it short to try and beat the weather!
...ended up driving right in the middle of it anyway!!

Hey maybe it'll stop by morning! If it does, the cold from all the snow pack should help freeze its self back to a firmer consistency won't it?

Well, Haven't heard from Sabatoa today! Hope that means you were able to get out and hit the runs at Highlands again!

I checked the web cam this morning & saw that people were riding,.. Foggy as all hell, but they were hittin' the lift! Forecast Looks like they're in for a fairly long stretch of cold weather up that way, if not necessarily a lot of snow!

Be nice if they got a good "Dump" before I head up there for the 27th.

Yeah, I got out there today.

Conditions were rough. The snow was akin to shaved ice. I got a nice ice rash on my back from a slide down the hill once.

The snow wasn't the worst though, as you said it was the fog. Actually if we're being honest, it was clouds. The ceiling was 200 feet and fog under that so you're basically riding with maybe 3 seconds visibility depending on your speed.

The lifts were eerie, because it was so foggy/cloudy and empty the place had a haunted feel with only the occasional voice somewhere in the mist, close enough to hear but out of visibility unless you happened to catch their shadowy silhouette in the fog.

It was cool for novelty but I didn't stay long, only an hour or two. I came down with something overnight so I was sick, sore, I couldn't see shit with my goggle so I had to ride natural and if I got any speed my eyes watered so I had to go slow...which wore me out more.

You get the drift.

Thanks my man. My next chance to ride is Thursday, hopefully I'm good by then and we get cold down here.

I feel for you bro. You should have been solid taking the end of December off to get lots of riding time.

I feel like I'm getting a sluggish start to the season, not in days riding but the quality of my riding. I don't remember last season so I don't know if this happened then too but I'm still sore the day following a few hours on this hill.

A few hours.

I used to bang out 8-12 hours last season, what the hell...

I think if I'm being real, my um..weight is hindering me this season. I'm up close to 20 pounds over last season and I was already 25-30 pounds heavy then.

Gonna have to do something about this and fast because I'm riding really poorly this season compared to what I expected. I get it's early but still..

...got the same trouble myself. Gained about 10-15 lb. since last season n I was up 10-15 then. A 25-30 lb. gain aint cuttin it.

(...too bad u don't live closer, we could both get our tubby asses into the gym!)
