I gotta admit tho, I have been pretty stoked by how well I got decent at riding switch. Especially when I read posts by long time riders who can't or don't like to get switch.

Guy's,.. Why don't we see if we can't arrange some sort of group meet at Highlands that weekend since it seems this airbag deal is such a rare event around here? Seems we got more than a few new local guys lately, this would b a good opportunity to maybe get to know a few n maybe find some other riding buds. Whattay think! Im game for taking a personal day that fri.

I wouldn't say that I outpaced you. I'd say we took different paths. You refined your riding with switch and probably better technique and I got more comfortable with speed and bodily injury.

Edit: on a straight run, I'm sure we can at least keep up with Dave if we tried. When I say Dave is fast, I'm not talking about just bombing. Ride with the dude through crystal mountain trees. In dare you to keep up and take the lines he does at speed.

I'll never forget shouting out to Dave while he was riding his line about the tree jib he was about to pass... he immediately made a hard left and completely jibbed that tree without skipping a beat.

Where I notice the speed difference between me and you guys is the speed that you guys are comfortable jibbing stuff or playing around. When I experiment with freestyle I don't feel comfortable doing so with much speed.

That comes with practice (obviously)

Generally speaking in freestyle speed is your friend because you don't need to balance as long, if you're going faster. But the flip-side of that is that any change in situation needs a much quicker reaction. Like, you notice you're off-balance... you need to do *something* and that something is to (as gracefully as possible) dismount, because you can't fight it, and if you don't dismount you'll eat shit.

I'll be happy if I'm going fast enough that I can See you go by instead of just getting to lift to find you waiting!!! Now that I know my Arbor needs a certain amount of real speed to really dig in & perform, I don't have to be quite such a Wuss! (...except when it's Ice!!) The Rome has some good speed too now that it's waxed, but going from wide to regular, I notice I need to be a little less extreme with the heel toe transitions! It reacts a lot quicker without so much muscling!

So, you fur shur gonna do Highlands on the 25th? If so, Maybe I'll bring some of my photo gear. I shoot mostly nature stuff, but I wouldn't mind trying to get some high speed action Air shots!!! Never tried any Sports shooting before!
