Yesterday @ Pine Knob was pretty good. The snow was decent and fast in the morning, Started slowing down around 1 as the temp. went up. Leo & I rode together till about 4 when he had to leave. I stayed till about 8!
They re-groomed between afternoon & pm sessions and the snow was Awesome afterward for about an hour-hour & half! Soft, fast groomers, sweet to carve! The itty bitty short Black Diamond run was a blast then! But Man, those skiers tear that shit up fast!!! We were sort of disappointed that everybody else seemed to bail on PK yesterday!! Thought we were going to see a few of the new MWRF members out there! Oh well! (...your loss!) ![]() I was thinking about going out to PK again today, maybe hook up with DaveZ, but work approved my personal day for next Friday, so I'm doing a 3 day weekend at Highlands! I think I'm going to save my money for that! Hope Highlands gets a TON of lake effect this week!!! Hey Dave, If I change my mind about heading out there today,.. what time you planning on being there? (...shit, I'm s-o-o-o irresponsible!)

You didn't miss anything by skipping PK today it was bulletproof ice and windy. WOuld've been a total waste for a solo ride, but I met a friend up there and one of his friends so we just messed aroudn in the small park and that made it a pretty fun time. but today was not a good day for riding groomers. The corduroy was like rumble strips on the freeway.

...You would have been given instructions on where to contact the OP for an endorsement deal!!
![]() This is a partial edit from yesterday @ PK. I got Leo to followcam me for a couple of runs. I'm posting this now because I wanted to first see if I could embed this properly and also just get a little general feedback from the other MWRF members on my riding. I'll post the final edit on the general forum when it's finished! ...here goes nuthin'!

God these shitty southern Michigan runs.
Sorry I never got to follow through on my offer to chase cam ya. I don't think I've ever kicked myself so repeatedly as I have the last week. ![]() I saw you getting that Arbor nose off the snow though. The Garage Rocker would have been good to record you on.

Yeah, the Rome does butter nice! I thought that first I'd show that I can do it with the stiffer Arbor Directional board, but in most of these it does look like I barely got the nose up! (...Also, not making excuses, I haven't been riding with my Camelbak much this year, but I had it on for most of these shots & it definitely threw me off!) After editing some of the Buttering footage and along with Leo's "Kind & Thoughtful" Intro,.. I thought this music was appropriate for the footage and in my opinion, makes it "Funny as Hell!!" ![]() Hillbilly hill slidin'!! Let me know what you think!

haha!
Awesome, the music was perfect when you started spinning. You're looking great on switch and props on spinning both ways. I think I have only done them one direction, it never occurred to me to go the other way. You know, in all seriousness...if I had to break my damn back I wish I would have done it at the end of the day so I could have ridden with you guys more. I dunno if I'd say I'm doing much better. I would say that the biggest battle I'm facing is mental. I struggle with being so stupid useless and then (because I have so much mobility) I push it trying to do things I shouldn't and I hurt myself again. I won't even get into the agony of missing out on the season. That's affected me more than I'm going to get into here. Just being real. But I always remind myself. At least it wasn't worse and I can still ride the rest of my days.

I'm so glad I said what I said before filming that. That video is awesome lol.
@Sam: You'll be back bro. Like I've said, you rode more this season than I did a couple seasons ago and we had good snow that season. Plus your excuse is much better than mine. |
