BTW, after they did the evening re-groom,.. I officially logged my personal bests on speed runs! I'm pretty sure I already broke these speed barriers earlier this year, up @ Highlands. I may have even gone faster, but I didn't have any actual log or confirmation of my speed!

I downloaded the "Alpine" app for my iPhone & 1st I busted 30 mph, then a few runs later, cracked 35 mph!! Last year, with the "Snow Trax or Cyclemeter" App's, the best I could do was 29.5 MPH!! So I'm really Stoked!!!

I also managed a few new Flat land, buttering tricks on that 2011/12 NS Proto CT of Leo's I was checking out! I really dialed in & refined my tail presses! That Proto spins like a freakin' top!! It was really fun! My Pressed turns/spins yesterday were a lot more smooth, complete, controlled & even downright "steezy!!" I actually stuck & held several (slow speed) moving nose presses! I starting down the run, (...on the much maligned PK Black Diamond run!!) pressed on the nose of the proto & nollied out into a good, straight, long tail press, complete with a pressed spin to switch!!!

All in all, I had a REALLY great night at PK yesterday!!! Wish some of you married "Wusses" could have gotten out there to enjoy it with me!! (...just joshing guy's!!! Not hating!!)

So Chomps, are you one of the NS faithful now?

Serious though, how did you like the Proto?

On that topic...I've been looking to upgrade from my first board, which I now have two seasons on (Burton Bullet - don't judge me, it was the cheapest decent board I could find that was a 164 or longer and also a wide). It has certainly served its purpose, but I want a longer board and one a bit wider. I also want a board with a bit more stiffness to it, like a medium flex.

So with that said, I am limited in my options. Of course, NS boards are talked about so well around here that I've looked into them because of this forum, but that's not the only reason I am pretty sure that I'm going to buy one. The Legacy 166 seems to just be the perfect match for what I'm looking for, now I just have to find a good deal on one so my wife will let me plop down the money for it!

I liked it! At first, I really wasn't sure I was going to like it! It took a couple of runs for me to start to get used to how different that hybrid camber/rocker/camber feels, but the truth is,.. I liked the board more & more after each & every run!!

(...NOT planning on running out & getting a NS tattoo on my Ass or anything,) ...but I definitely liked the board!!

Finding a deal on a Legacy will be hard because they usually sell out every year and aren't available at the end of the season. You can do it if you buy used, might have trouble with that size but good luck!

I actually love the graphics on the Proto you rode. I just didn't like the Cobra graphics, the rest actually are alright by me now.

So I've seen with a lot of boards in that size range in general. I'm assuming this is because they probably limit the production of those larger sizes?

Anyone with firsthand knowledge seem to think that board is the right choice for what I mentioned I am looking for, or is there a better model suited for Michigan groomers for a new/intermediate-level rider my size? Any input is appreciated, as always.
